There's no option rom for that device ID in the bios, that's why it doesn't work.

I have removed the external vga option rom, and added a RAID option rom with tweaked device id to match your hardware.

Don't know the results it can produce, test it if you want and are brave enough. Theorically it should work. I would test on my own laptop if i had it.

possibility of bricking would u say is how high?

same as before,, at least no brick!! but no option rom, same exact issue as before.. under f9, no drives show up. wont boot into windows.

sounds cool, appreciate the help.. because u have really helped me and trying i will donate a few bucks and see if i can get others to do so as well.

still the same results , exactly as before.. perhaps adding the entire array of ide options might work?

Did you see the RAID rom pop on boot when you boot in raid mode?

And if you boot in ahci mode? Do you see ahci rom booting?

nope.. same as before.. to make sure, i just updated the bios again with the latest file u sent.. I did it inside windows though... is there another way u want me to update the bios?

no.. im a+ computer tech, so trust me, i know what you mean with that... my desktop is a gigabyte ud7 with all the stuff u are talking about... intel raid rom bios and achi bios Smile

Booting in AHCI mode does not launch either the option rom bios that is present, ...

Boot again the ubuntu but in ahci mode and paste lspci result. the one with sudo and grep
