You are trying to install a combo card, wireless plus bluetooth right? Maybe it has a pci id and an usb id, did the original card,the one you want to remove have pci and usb ids too???

the old card did, the broadcom card had a bluetooth 2070 usb

USB\VID_0A5C&PID_21B4&REV_0481

the new card (intel 6200) is just WLAN, no bluetooth chip

yay!!! were halfway there.

the laptop will now boot with the new wireless card and modded bios with no error message. it was recognised and installed fine......

unfortunately for some reason, the wireless module seems to be disabled on the bios (which i cant access) so i cant actually use the card

any ideas?

Tap pin 20 of the wifi card before inserting it in the slot

scrap that,,,, i scratched pin 20 off with a stanley blade, poppd it back in the laptop and can now confirm
