[REQUEST] HP Pavillion DV6-3xxx whitelist removal
#31
It should work for you. I've done a recovery using that exact same bios before on a similar laptop. Although if it's a processor problem then recovering the bios wont fix that.

The chip can be programmed through SPI protocol. You'd need an original dump of the bios before you flashed it though. It might be easier buying a new bios chip.

will this work on my HP Pavilion DV6-6090ee with Insyde F.1B?

So here it goes,
I have an HP Pavilion DV6-3231nr with an Intel WIFI Link 1000.
I also have a hackintosh installation on it but doesn't support the card, so I bought a new one, which is an Atheros AR5B93. I turned on the laptop, it then shows the dreaded WLAN Module ID 702 error.

I searched the internet about the problem and found about the whitelists. I stumbled upon this site and downloaded the modded bios by Camiloml.

It installed fine. I shut down the laptop and placed the new wifi card. I turned it on and I saw the 702 error message flashing on the screen then the screen turned black (It seemed to pass the error). I waited a while but tried restarting. The laptop now is dead and the screen doesn't turn on but the fans can be heard. It seemed to have been bricked so I restored using Donovan's brick recovery.

Now it's working again. I placed the original wifi card (Intel WIFI) but it suddenly stopped working and cannot be seen on the Device Manager. I'm completely screwed.

I need help though:
- How can I make my Intel WIFI working again? I believe it's still ok though, maybe a problem with the BIOS?
- Some say that Camiloml's sp55299 mod isn't working. Maybe someone here has a working mod in hand? Or even an explanation of why it isn't working?
- I also read about the Pin 20 tape trick. Is it the one that will do the trick?

Information
Laptop: HP Pavilion DV6-3231nr
Bios Link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55299.exe
Original WIFI card: Intel WIFI Link 1000
New WIFI card: Atheros AR5B93

Thanks so much!!!

The tools and methods used back when initial HP RSA bios came out had some issues with correcting checksums. This is what causes the werid bricks in nearly all of the RSA bios that camiloml modded.

Here you go Cool

Unlocked the Advanced tab, removed WIFI and bluetooth whitelists, and enabled native hackintosh power management. Enjoy Big Grin

And I always appreciate donations Blush

Hey it's you donovan6000! Smile Your modded BIOS is working perfectly. No more bricks. Unfortunately, my laptop goes to a BSOD after a few minutes when entering windoze. Perhaps, the motherboard doesn't support the AR5B93. Sad

Thanks anyway for your help! Gotta find an AR9285 ASAP. Thanks!

Hello everybody.
I purchased an Intel 7260HWM to find out that the adapter is not whitelisted in my BIOS (the 702 code shows up).
I searched this forum but there is nothing about my laptop model (see below) and honestly I don't know which other HP laptops are equivalent BIOS-wisely... The problem is that from the HP website it is not possible to download drivers/updates so I connot figure out the SPxxxxx code... What can I do?

I appreciate your comprehension and the time you'll devote to my case.
Bye, Luca.

Hello there. Seems that HP were just updating their support website.

The BIOS update package for my laptop is the sp55299. This said I was able to crawl this forum and found an unlocked package (for any possible future dv6-3041sl owner, this is the package I'm talking about). Everything is working fine (see result below). Ty so much!

Hello,

I want to use a new wifi network with Intel Dual Band AC7260. But the Whitelist/Bios blocked it by starting of my Notebook.
Can anyboby help me with a spezial BIOS without the HP whitelist.
