[REQUEST] HP ProBook 4530s Whitelist Removal
#1
- BIOS download link:http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=5060880&prodNameId=5060882&swEnvOID=4053&swLang=13&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=ob-96595-1

- PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002B&SUBSYS_30AB168C

- I do not think it is RSA signed as Andy's tool did not say that it was encrypted in the first line. If it is, then I understand the risks.

I also noticed that the HP4520 was requested earlier and a mod said it was impossible. Is that the case here?

I would ideally like the whitelist removed, but if that is impossible then I can give the device ID of the card that I want to use.

Thanks!

That Elitebook and Probook laptops have a bad habit, does not accept modded bios and they brick or revert to original bios automatically.

Anyway i can try to mod yours and you can test if it eats the mod. If the laptop bricks it's easy to recover via USB Stick and proper files.

BIOS REPOSITORY.Please consider donating (me or forum) if you like my work.
Please remember to come back and leave feedback. I hate leech and disappear thing.

Nice day.
Camilo.

I would be happy to give it a shot and recover it if necessary.

I have OS X Lion installed on it and the only thing that does not work perfectly is the wireless card, so I am really hoping I can replace it with one that does work.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for making it! Unfortunately it soft-bricked my laptop. I was able to recover back to the original BIOS but it did not take =/

I tried once more afterward, but had the same problem. I guess I'll just try to get this wireless card working with the laptop or see if any other HP wireless cards work better under OS X.

Thanks for the attempt!

Hi, I need the whitelist on my bios removed. The laptop is an HP ProBook 4530s and the bios file is sp54862.

sp54862

Current device id:
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002B&SUBSYS_1461103C&REV_01

New device id:
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0091&SUBSYS_52218086&REV_34

I opened the bios with the phoenix tool, and it did not appear to be RSA signed, however I am new at this and may be wrong. I am also in the process of installing a fresh copy of Windows 7 home premium using a microsoft disc (non-HP). I deleted all partitions (with the windows 7 disc, including hp tools, which i backed up previously just in case) and installed windows 7 on unallocated space.

Which method do you recommend for flashing the new BIOS?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

-Motherboard Manufacturer and Model : 4530s HP probook
-Bios Revision : F.20
-Bios Type : EFI/INSYDE
-Bios SLIC : 2.1
-Bios Link : F.20 4530s
-Rw-everything report : ACPITBLS.RW

Original Card: PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_3592&SUBSYS_1638103C
its a Ralink 2x2 3592 wifi b/g/n + bluetooth card(crap at both bluetooth and wifi)

the card I was trying to add was a PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002B&SUBSYS_1461103C&REV_01

An atheros card that was surposed to be supported by my hp

I've done as much as my lack of skills will allow me to do, been trying for awhile so figured I would try here

Been looking around the internet to get rid of my laptops pesky whitelist, I brought an atheros card for it that its surposed to support, but as soon as I installed it, good ol whitelist blockage

I managed to mess around and edit the bios and find the addresses and stuff, but don't know what im doin in a hex editor

Just dunno how to mod it in a way that it will work for me.
any help much appreciated, Ron

Hey guys! If it is possible could someone remove the whitelist for the F.28 HP Probook 4530s BIOS?

Here is the download link for it. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=5060880&prodNameId=5060887&swEnvOID=4058&swLang=13&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=ob-107785-1

I am not sure if the whole list gets removed or if individual manufacturers are added. If the latter is the case then could all Broadcom cards be allowed?

Thanks in advance!!
