Hi everyone, not sure if I am in the right place so I'll ask first to not waste anyones time: I bought myself some cheap 3rd party battery packs for my Lenovo G500 and the current BIOS version has a serial number lock and tells me those are bad and won't use them.

The vendor told me to downgrade to an older BIOS version which I can't get my hands on though so I am stuck.

Is there a BIOS/procedure available to make my knockoff battery packs work in the machine?

if you have previous versions of bios, you can experiment...but I doubt that this will help you
P.S. In my opinion, the right choice is to turn the battery back to the seller

That beeing said, I would kindly request modification of my BIIOS (ROM File can be found here http://www.rapidshare.com.cn/3AMULvr ) - whatever is possible. WLAN replacement and more BIOS options to play around with sound great to me!
