Don't be afraid to brick falshing the Bios Mod as I have done tons and all well !
The problem is then OC after the Mod as many users do extreme settings or Disabling

So You can continue without fear, but when You get the Unlocked Menu then
You have to think what are You doing not now !
It's like a gun problem, It is not the gun the issue but who has the gun and how It will be used !

I have a Lenovo G500s notebook.  My device manager says it has the Qualcomm Atheros AR9485WB-EG WLAN card, and I'd like to upgrade to the Intel Dual Band 7265 with Bluetooth.

I believe the BIOS is the Insyde chip.  It has the ID 7BCN36WW and version number 2.02.

I've seen other posts requesting that the whitelist be removed for this BIOS, but I'm unsure if each image is different based on the new card going in, or anything else.  If someone could send me a BIOS image that is universal, maybe (at least as far as possible)?  That would be greatly appreciated.

If I remember right, I think that's all the information that was needed.  Please let me know if anything els eis needed, and how many limbs I need to sell in order to pay (whoever does this for me) to do it!

Also, is the HP utility I saw on the main page the best utility to use, or will the Lenovo flashing utility work better?  I'm not sure if it would detect a modified BIOS or not.

Thanks,
Chris

Thanks for the information, and the link.  I'm sorry, the forum didn't notify me hat I had a response, so I just now saw this.  Unfortunately, when I click the link, it says that access to the file is restricted.  Is there a means of getting the information you need by another means?

I greatly appreciate your time and assistance with this.

<<EDIT>> I think I got what you need and have uploaded the file.  Is this what you were looking for?

One more thing I just found - this tool detected my system as x32 instead of x64...which isn't right. It's a 64 bit Core i7 processor (Lenovo G500s).

I managed to get a backup of the ROM using BIOS Backup Toolkit. The link to the zipped file is below (hosted on my site). Thanks again!

Thanks,
Chris

Thanks again for the file. I'm having trouble locating a flash utility for this BIOS of mine.  Do you have a recommendation or a link?  The OEM images coe pre-bundled with a flash utility, and I'm not exactly sure which utility I should be using for this.  I've downloaded a couple from here, but none of them seem to actually be able to flash.

Thanks again,
Chris
