[REQUEST] Lenovo IdeaPad Y580 (5DCNxxWW) Unlock BIOS
#21
(08-24-2014, 02:46 PM)edasmax Wrote: I have a Lenovo Y580 with 5DCN90WW (V8.01) BIOS and I want to remove the WL.
I want to make a copy using fdpw64 but I got an error:
"Error 104: The 2 SPI Flash devices do not have compatible command set."

Hi friend,
this error gave for bad Eeprom definition in paramenters file fparts.txt !
So look which Eeproms You have in your laptop and mod the value from 0xc7 to 0x60 or inverse !
Or use this one, run It as Administrator and upload here the result file

Let me know

I spent the past week going over BIOS hex code and assembly code. I managed to remove the whitelist from my Y580. No overclocking, no unlock menus, just simiply removed the whitelist. My Y580 is running the 5DCN90WW(V8.01). I flashed my modded BIOS using svl7's method from techinferno using Intel's Flash Programming Tool (FPT.EXE). I can put together a how-to if anyone is still interested.
