This version is the same as on my X201i so I flashed it and it enabled me to use different WiFi card (Compex WLE200NX). However both original and replacement cards only work in one of the two slots. If I use the upper slot, it's visible to system (both Linux/Windows see it) but it can't be used because of a hard block (as listed in rfkill). Is this some real limitation or can it be lifted as well? My plan was to use two WiFi cards because the WWAN antennas work for 2.4 GHz just fine and that would enable me to repurpose X201 as a WiFi AP.

Hello,
I would like to enable WIFI card slot, I have 2 mini pcie which I can't use as the WIFI wont turn on so its probably whitelisted in bios.

I'm using latest available BIOS. The BIOS has the lock on it, I can enter it but unable to change things (however laptop is working fine).

Any help here? Do I need to extract BIOS or something else?

Could someone take the latest Bios for Thinkpad X201 and remove Whitelist from it and place it here for all to download.

I would love to upgrade wlan to Intel AC version & BT to 4.x while I had to open my laptop and make wlan       permanently on, known problem with wlan switch...

I have an X201 that came without any wifi cards, I only have Atheros which trigger the whitelist error at BIOS indicating to replace it with an authorized card. Direct BIOS update download links are below.
