Thanks again BDMaster,

It didn't work with the modified Bios,

After i wrote the file to the chip using the ch341a program, turning it only gave me the fan running on high, black screen (no light) and flashing red thinkpad light,

When i tried to verify the contents, it told me that there was a mismatch.,

What should i do next, prepare a recovery USB? if that's possible....

also attached to this post is a bios i made before i did the original bios update. see below
.rar   W25Q64FVSIG.rar (Size: 2.65 MB / Downloads: 47)

Houston we have a problem,

Seems i was sleeping and wrote this bios file using the SPI Programmer to the wrong chip,

Well I wrote to the W25Q64FVSIG chip instead of the W25Q32FVSIG one,

Results of my failure,

1. I Turn on the E540 laptop, no boot, fan starts running at 50%,

2. After 5 seconds the fan starts running at 100%

What should my next step be?

It appears I still need the whitelist,

I tried following the guide at https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-L-...-p/1268569 using the latest bios and renaming it to BIOS.WPH once it had extracted the $0AJ9000.FL1 to System/Drivers/Flash/j9uj19ww/J9ET99WW

Is there a way to reflash the bios from the bios file i downloaded? which would be version 2.20 at this link on Lenovo's site http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds037207

i only have a backup of the W25Q64FVSIG, not the W25Q32FVSIG and the SOIC8 test clip and programmer doesn't read anything but FFFFFFFF at this point, so i cant write anything to the chips, Picture Below

Hi mate,
It's not so easy like to rename file .WPH . . .
I can extract from Original FIle $0AJ9000.FL1 only the Bios Region = 4096 KB Eeprom Chip
but the Descriptor and ME there are not into !
So If You destroied the Original containing of the 8192 KB Eeprom Chip will be a problem !
We have your Dumps but I cannot check if there are all right bytes as your is the first I saw
from an E540 !
I need to know more info about Eeprom Chip wrong write please !
Here is the Original Bios Region version 99 = file for Eeprom Chip 4096 KB
so for this one W25Q32FVSIG

http://rghost.net/6sgNLS4XB

Try to flash this one and . . .

Hi BDMaster,

I am not a genius, just trying my best.

I had made a mistake and sent you the wrong files, the ones from elvikom.pl was for my learning with ADA64,

I was comparing bios so that is why they got mixed up,

I'm going to try flashing the backup that i had made of the bios before i flashed it,

I had that saved somewhere else,

also that was the 8mb Flash EEPROM, not the 4mb one.

i have the proper dump of the 4mb EEPROM, ill send you once I get around to later,

Could you still help me then?

Hello there,

I have a Thinkpad E540. I want the built wireless card with a new exchange (Intel Dual Band 7260 ac model 7260HMW) Unfortunately not boot after installation of the laptop. I've been using Windows 8.1 64bit. Is there a way to activate the new card?
