[REQUEST] Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E535 (HHETxxWW) Whitelist Removal
#11
(12-13-2013, 11:19 AM)QSZ-92 Wrote: Dear bios-mod community,

A couple of days ago i bought a new wifi card for my Lenovo thinkpad edge e535. The old one (bcm43142) had very bad support in linux. I called lenovo with the question which other wifi cards were supported by my machine. They adviced me the Intel centrino advanced-n 6250 (P/N: 60Y3195). The funny thing is, the new card won't work... I get the error that the card is not supported...

Is there any way that any of you guys can remove this idiot whitelist? I know there is another post with the same request. The problem with that post is that it only includes the old bios that does not support windows 8...

Link to BIOS files: http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/...uj05wd.iso (bootable CD) / http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/...uj05ww.exe (executable). Both are version 2.51.

Hope there is anyone that can help me with this problem!

thanks in advance Smile

Usefull information:
Link to older request: http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Th...al-request
Pictures with info hwinfo64 gives about original card and what windows 8 says about the original card: here and here
PCI ID (not really sure, found it on internet): ? "14e4:4365" ?

Question
I've spent the past few days Googling for a modded BIOS, and although I found a few threads that previously linked to modified BIOSes, those links were dead.

I'd like to request WLAN whitelist removal for the Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E535 3260-EDU. This community has allowed me to upgrade three previous laptops over the years, and I am eternally grateful for everyone's hard work.

Latest BIOS (2.51, HHET91WW) here:
http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/...uj05ww.exe

This build comes with the Realtek 8188CE 1x1 b/g/n (Identified as 1x1 11bgn Wireless LAN PCI Express Half Mini Card Adapter):

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8176&SUBSYS_819510EC&REV_01

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8176&CC_028000
