[REQUEST] Lenovo Thinkpad T410 (6IETxxWW) BIOS Unlock
#11
Hi!

I'm looking for a BIOS Unlock to get the advanced menu for this specific T410.

Here's the specs:
Thinkpad T410 (Model: ZHXG0834MU)
NVS 3100M Graphics
Core i5 M 540
6GB RAM
120GB SSD

The latest BIOS version (6IET85WW or 1.45) has been installed, which is a modded bios that has the wifi whitelist removed.

I have the .ROM file of the modded bios. Would that work as a base?

PM me if you need more info, thanks!

Hello everyone,

Sorry for the ... delay.

I finally know how to extract this BIOS, so I can mod it now.

There are a lot of settings of interest to unlock here (hyperthreading, virtualization, speedstep, thermal/throttling, and more!).

I will complete this mod over the next few days. I will check out the Lenovo T510 as well.

Hello DIESEL3497,

Could you post pictures of the BIOS menus that you can see? I just need the images of each top-level menu, not pictures from the sub-menus inside those.

It looks like the settings are already in place in your BIOS image, but there could be a function merely hiding the interesting ones. This function can be nop'ed (negated).

An image would give more insight into what is going on here.

The Config menu seems to already contain a large number of interesting settings (looking at the BIOS image on my end). Are there any settings in particular you are looking for?

Could you send me a picture of the Config menu as well as pictures of a few of the sub-menus under it (including CPU)? Some of the settings or sub-menus that show up on my end might be hidden in the actual menus on your end by a function.

To be honest, it looks like your BIOS is already unlocked. It is very rarely that I see a Phoenix BIOS so fully featured, especially without a BIOS mod.

If there are specific settings you are looking for, I can see if they are available to add to the menus, but you do really have a very fully featured BIOS Setup Utility right now, even among modded ones.

I have attached a copy of the part of the BIOS image that contains all of the strings that you will or could find in your BIOS menus (whether modded or not). These include setting names, options that those settings can be set to, informational text about the settings, error messages, and menu names. I'm thinking about writing a script someday that will automatically separate these, but I haven't yet, so it looks like a (somewhat controlled) mess. You will have to see what catches your attention in the attached text file.

Let me know if there is anything there you would like added that isn't already accessible in the BIOS menus.

Here is a sample from the text file with capitalized letters to make some kind of sense of the output:

Boot MenuCPU SpeedCPU TypeSelect whether to
enable or disable <-- PART OF THE PREVIOUS SETTING TEXT
Integrated Camera. <-- NEW SETTING NAME

[Enabled] <- FIRST POSSIBLE OPTION FOR ABOVE SETTING
Enables use of <- DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPTION
Integrated Camera.

[Disabled] <- SECOND POSSIBLE OPTION FOR ABOVE SETTING
Disables use of <- DESCRIPTION
Integrated Camera and
keeps it disabled in
the OS environment.
Integrated Camera
Select whether to
enable or disable <- END OF DESCRIPTION
CardBus Slot. <- NEW SETTING NAME

[Enabled] <- FIRST OPTION FOR ABOVE SETTING
Enables use of
CardBus Slot.

[Disabled]
Disables use of
CardBus Slot and
keeps it disabled in
the OS environment.
CardBus Slot <- NEW SETTING

-----------

EDIT: Different parts of the file use different formats.
