Hi,
I would like to try the same update on the same way like kemod did (thx for your great howto), but I need a Patched ROM.
I've already post a request for my Backup here:

Can some of the Pro's do the Mod to my Backup??
Will this only work on my x230t or on any x230t??

Thanks for your effort, and you're right it was made with the FPT Backup Tool.

I've tried your Mod for me but it stoped with some new error's:

0183: Bad CRC of Security Settings in EFI... <--- theese is gone after I disabled the Security Option again (I did this before I started also)

here the current problems:

1802: Unauthorized network card.... (0BDB/1911) <-- theese is my WWAN Card
1802: Unauthorized network card.....(8086/08B1/8086/4470) <-- new Intel Wlan 7260 card
1802: Unauthorized network card.....(8087/07DC) <-- new Intel Wlan 7260 card

the last one does only appear if the new card is installed alone without WWAN.

And here is a backup file made from the HW. Chip Programmer if you need:

The X230T Bios v.2.57 and 2.59 I have done time ago and have no secrets, the Mod worked !!!
I don't know what is gone on your Tablet, but I will redo he mod based on the new backup !
I will reply here quickly.

Thanks for your quick reply, but still no luck.

Here my test conditions (tested with the original Bios and Hardware - no problems):


so no need to soldering ervery try.

And I'm not on Win8 I'm still using Win7 .

the only different to kemod is the other Chip:


so I hope you have another idea and enough time for my Bios...

There are two locks as one is for Bluetooth adapter 8087-07dc and one for Wireless adapter 0bdb-1912 (Ericsson F5521gw).

Yes I used some jump wires cut in half and soldered directly to the MoBo, on the other side I used the programming socket coming with the Hardware programmer.
So no soldering and less stress for the chip.





again no luck:
1. boot without mini PCI-E cards -> no problem
2. boot with old Wlan card -> no problem
3. with old 3g WWAN Card installed:

with the last one I got only one error,

with the regular 3g WWAN and new Intel 7260 Wlan/BT installed I got this one:


no error with the old Wlan and 3g WWan and just one error with the ne new Wlan card.
so for me it looks like you're on the right way.
