Hello! I bought an SPI programmer + SOIC8 clip, now I'm waiting for its delivery. But I'm afraid to damage the chip. I don’t know if I need to connect a laptop power adapter or not when using the programmer without evaporating the chip. What software to use to get the correct dump? How can I get a detailed manual about receiving and flash dump BIOS? Sorry for my English.

I pulled the chip and read directly twice with my ch341 and verified it with HxD.  I am unsure of the BIOS version at this point.

I see there is a new UEFI version 2.77 on Oct. 3 2019 for the x230 laptop. Before I update to this I wanted to reach out and ask if there are any concerns to updating and then having it modded?
