[REQUEST] Lenovo V580c (H5ETxxWW) Whitelist Removal
#11
(01-12-2015, 11:39 AM)Motormaster Wrote: BDMaster, thank's a lot! Modified bios was flashed successfully. The only one way to check if everything is working 100% is to place a new wifi card into a slot. There are several options in my head (intel, Atheros), but I have not decided yet what is best. I want a combo card in half size(Bluetooth + Wlan) with dual range(2.4 & 5 GHz) but have some trouble with my choise.
Lenovo's whitelist is for wlan cards(mini Pcie slot) only or for another hardware too?

It's for all WiFi Cards (WLan and WWan) removed the whitelist lock !

Can't make a backup of my bios for mod's. The FPT utility for windows alerts "Error 103: There are no supported SPI flash devices installed. Please check connectivity and orientation of SPI flash device."

The fpt for dos alerts "unsupported platform".

Thank you. But fpt from your backup_tools12.exe still alerts errors (results.rar uploaded). I have maked backup via Universal Bios Backup and uploaded it too.
Is it a valid rom-file? See, please.

I see, that size of new rom is 4 MB, but my original rom was about 8 MB. Is it right or mistake? Is New rom for my laptop only?

I afraid to write new bios.. Different sizes, fpt errors, two tools for rom convert.. In case of failure, I don't know whether it is possible to write my backup rom, even in service room..

Would explain better please ?
Have You bricked your laptop ?
Are You afraid to use the new Bios Mod ?
All Bios Backup has to get a 4096 KB Size and have to start with this Hex String :

781600004E000000EC0B0201000024036005000000010200803F000000000000

x...N.........$.`........?......

and has to finish with . . .

6007F4FF0000000000000000000000000F09E96BF9000000785634120000F4FF

`..................k....xV4.....

So You can check your Bios Mod size and Hex data !
