Unfortunately Sleep Bug didnt work at this platform!I made mod for this laptop in past but user needed SPI PGM+pomona soic8 clip to flash mod.
If you have/buy this tools so i can help you.
Let me know!

Da Vinci, thank you very much for your kind reply.

Unfortunately you are correct. I read this post carefully https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...est?page=4 and found out this sad story.

I will contact a local service center tomorrow, and ask if they have an SPI programmer. My laptop is out of warranty already, so think they won't mind to help me for some reward. Worst-case scenario, i will order the tools - they don't look expensive. If i'll find an SPI, may I contact you tomorrow again and ask to help me with the mod?

I think the same file you've prepared for exetico here https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...#pid112496 for 96CN31WW (v1.17) BIOS will be fine for me as well!

DaVinci, hi again.
I found an SPI programmer, may i ask you to share a modded BIOS with me?
Since I'll have to flash with SPI in any case, I upgraded my BIOS version to latest version - 96CN31WW(V1.17). Updated dumps are here:
http://rgho.st/8TYrwhQrH
http://rgho.st/8RcZdXkGS
I believe my modded BIOS will be the same as the one for exetico from here:

Thanks in advance,
dovcharov

Unfortunately i'm not interested to complete your mod using SPI Programmer(this mod is confirmed)
I started research for Insyde and Phoenix bios vendors how to flash mod using stock software without programmer.
Of course, laptop may be bricked after some experiences so i need guys with programmer who can help me.
You must download latest archive from Lenovo site and unpack iit.
Upload this folder with all content including icsflash.dll, FlashInsyde.exe, bios image and etc.
I will modify it so you can try to flash it.

Please make bios backup by Programmer before. You can easy recover bios if my mod can brick laptop.
After that run application and save some screenshots during updating process for analyze.

Da Vinci, Hi  again. I apologize for the late reply.

I had to send my laptop to service center, because the binding of the laptop screen to the laptop body collapsed. After holding it for a coulpe of weeks they charged me a crazy amount for repairs, and i had to take it back and repair the binding myself with 2-component mouldable resin glue Smile

Unfortunately the bios mod based on the original BIOS updater that you've made for me didn't work out. I tried to flash it:
1. Flasher started, checked BIOS VER
2 Windows went into reboot
3 Insyde BIOS Flasher displayed a message, that BIOS file is incorrect.

I tried to dump the BIOS with CH341A programmer, but no luck. The programmer does not detect my BIOS chip for some reason. When I plug the programmer to USB port without the clips - the CH341A Programmer software says "Connected".

But as soon as I plug SOIC clips to BIOS chip and into the programmer (with red wire going to #1 pin on the BIOS chip (marked with dot) and other side of the clips cable to the 25xx section of the green socket, with pin 1 facing central part as displayed on the programmer), i get a message "Not connected" in the software, and cannot dump the chip...

Da Vinci, thanks!!! I've killed half of the day today trying to make a dump, and my mistake was so simple...

Here's my dump of the original 96CN31WW(V1.17) bios. Can you kindly help me to make a BIOS mod out of it?

Hello!
If you are successed to make dump using Programmer, just upload it!
I need full firmware because it contains Descriptor region with read/write permissions.
Dumps from Intel FPT,universal backup tool and SPI PGM are not same.
