[REQUEST] Lenovo Z51-70 (C2CNxxWW) BIOS Unlock
#1
Hola Amigos!
I am in the process of getting Mac OSx Yosemite Set up on my Lenovo Z51 Laptop, and am facing an issue with the DMVT Prealloc Memory
in the UEFI BIOS.
I Followed some guides for older laptops and found that I need to set the setup variable 0x18c to 0x3, but unfortunately, this is not possible since the H2O Bios Versions available for my laptop.

My BIOS Dump : https://www.sendspace.com/file/9pg2vz (Universal BIOS Backup toolkit could not identify my bios, so i used its custom option 8192K, is it the correct way to extract?)

EDIT: HERE is the rar from the BACKUP tools, https://www.sendspace.com/file/a1yrrg

Below are the Snaps of my present bios:

I need help in either changing the 0x18c setup variable to 0x3, or i've read in some places, to unlock the hidden menu to be able to do
such things.

Any and all help is needed and very much appreciated!

THANK YOU! Big Grin

With hopes sky high,
thePsguy.

Yup, I found this part.. But using the grub uefi shell and the setup_var command, I am not able to change the uefi variable's value.
Can it not be directly changed in the BIOS itself? And is there no other way than FalseClock to do this?

Here is the result from the tool you linked: https://www.sendspace.com/file/clf2ca

Thank You for the reply! Big Grin

Since this is a new model, lenovo does not seem to have a previous version on their site. Yup I tried renaming the URL. Mine is 1.04.
And those tools would be an overkill!

Anyway, thanks a lot for your time! I hope the community does find a workaround sometime in the future though! Big Grin

Been a long time I know.
Could someone please help in finding the whitelist in the bios? as in which all vendor and product ID's are allowed?

I have attached the results from Universal Bios Backup Tool (Which could not automatically identify, so i chose 8192K), And the backuptools12.exe in a single archive at

https://www.sendspace.com/file/pzsuvk

Looking forward to a reply!
