I have lenovo z51-70
I wanted to get egpu through the m.2 port which is used for WiFi card it's m.2 key a/e aka ngff
The problem is after research I found that the bios have whitelist problems (I didn't get the gdc or GPU yet) so I wanted to make sure it's unlocked before getting anything
Found some posts about lenovo z51-70 not be able to modified but I think that everything can be modified so I wanna know everything and what I need to search about also what to dumb here for better knowledge and what do I need to modify
....etc
Everything
Everything can be hacked
Note: talking to lenovo's support said that there's no advanced menu but I have to modify the bios to get the job done.

So I basically have to change 0x2A1 to 0x1? But my BIOS area is write protected according to Backup_tools12.
How else can I do this?
UPDATE: Using the efi shell from falseclock's method, the shell never boots from usb, stuck at black screen, so I tried with grub uefi shell, and doing
setup_var 0x2A1 0x01 gives me
offset 0x2A1 is: 0x00
Setting offset 0x2a1 to 0x01
error: can't set variable using efi (error: 0x000000000000001a)
Any idea?
So I'm looking at modifying this 0x2A1 variable using the H2OUVE.exe method since that works for me.
Am I approaching this correctly? Will this possibly enable the advanced menu in the bios?
I'm just trying to see if this works.
My next goal would be to remove the wlan whitelist using this method, but I don't know yet where to find it, even when looking at the Z51-70 EFI table that was provided in this thread.
Thanks all.
