[REQUEST] MCP61PM-AM BIOS Unlock (Acer, Gateway, Emachines)

Try the bios, they might fix your bios
Download - http://support.gateway.com/support/drive...p?id=22008&dscr=BIOS%20ECS-MCP61PM-AM%20MotherboardVersion:%2061G114ES&uid=239946715
or Download - http://support.gateway.com/support/drive...p?id=22006&dscr=BIOS%20ECS-MCP61PM-AM%20MotherboardVersion%2061G114GS&uid=239946723
If that doesn't work, try www.biosman.com
They could fix your problem. Biosman is our partner website

Ok, I made two bootable cds with both versions of bios. Every single time I try to boot system from either one of cds computer restarts itself and goes black screen.

If I try to flash it in winflash I can see screen - 'this file is no support bios lock function' so I guess it doesn't work for me.

Thanks for reply anyway.

Ok, i'm gonna use AWDFLASH in DOS and we'll see if I can flash my old bios back.

Could you post modded version of bios you mentioned anyway ?

Thanks a lot.

Sry I didn't get back, I forgot to check up on this thread.

I'm a bit confused though because the original bios file you posted had the DRAm clocks and CPU FSB stuff. We're you hoping to unlock more than that?

I was wondering if someone could help me with an unlock for cpu settings in this bios. I just got a new cpu cooler and now i can overclock a bit but bios only shows the settings and they are locked from editing.
Also i was wondering about how dangerous modding bios can be.

I forgot to add this mod to the unlocked section, but I've done it and the settings you want are there. Ill post links and instructions tom when I have a chance to make sure things look good.

Thanks,

Ive heard that if i go above 2.8 GHz with only the reference clock on this board it will become unstable. Is there any way to get around that ? i was hoping to get 3.0 or better from it.

Okay now I remember my dilemma with this bios. In my software everything already shows up as unlocked as far as CPU and RAM? So is it already showing unlocked to you or no. This bios is very similar to the nettle2 which I have unlocked, so I don't know why you would'nt be able to use the settings.

Thanks,
TheWiz

I can chage the RAM clock speed up to 800 but the cpu options only show me the actual numbers but i am unable to edit or even select them.
Could the motherbard be restricting this ?

To my tools, its shows you have access to FSB, ht width and height. If you do not see these, what I can do is manually set the setting in bios defaults so that when you flash they are automatically set. But you have to be 100 percent positive of the settings you want, because you want to have a stable oc that doesnt require yet another flash.

That sounds a bit risky to me really since i really dont know what this system can take i dont think that will work. I was just looking around for other ways to speed this thing up and i was wondering if this board and bios can support a am2+ processor. I was reading that some am2 boards can support am2+ with the latest bios.
