[REQUEST] Medion Erazer Defender P50 Bios Unlock
#1
Laptop Model: Medion Erazer Defender P50 MD62596 (NP70RND1)

BIOS Information:

    BIOS Type: InsydeH2O
Current BIOS Version: Latest official version 1.07.04RME5_00027 (flashed using right-click on .ff file)
    Official BIOS Download: https://www.medion.com/de/service/produc...l/30036595
    BIOS Dump: Created using FPTW64.exe -d backup.bin - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GeiEN9j...drive_link
BIOS Dump IFR TXT - https://drive.google.com/file/d/18u8b84M...drive_link

* sorry for gdrive links, upload function here doesn't work for me -_-

What I’ve Tried & Results:

✅ Checked & Modified BIOS Variables Using RU.EFI

0x1C6C → Changed to 0x01 (No effect after reboot. Thought it would be the main var to change)
    Other modified variables: 0x1D3A, 0xBA4, 0x1C5E
After reboot, values remain correctly set, but BIOS menu does not unlock.

✅ Attempted BIOS Unlock via GRUB (setup_var)

Didn't proceed with it due to the output "GUID does not match expected GUID  / expected a different size of the Setupvariable" hovewer the value was printed right with 0x00 (before changing in ru.efi)

✅ Opened & Edited BIOS in H2OUVE

In Setup Tab → Changed "Suppress/Greyout" options from Auto to None.
This revealed all hidden BIOS options in GUI.
However, any changes I make are NOT saved, even though H2OUVE shows no errors when saving.
After reopening the modified .bin, all changes revert back to defaults (in both, official bios bin and my bios dump bin).

✅ Checked Flash Descriptor (FD) & Flashing Permissions

BIOS Dump Works (FPTW64.exe -d flash_dump.bin completes successfully).
However, attempting to flash back an edited BIOS results in Error 167: Protected Range Registers.

What I Need Help With:

1️⃣ How to completely unlock Advanced BIOS menus (including CPU, Fan Control, Overclocking, etc.).
2️⃣ How to bypass PRx protection (Error 167) and flash a modified BIOS.
3️⃣ Why changes in RU.EFI persist after reboot but have no visible effect in BIOS.
4️⃣ Why H2OUVE does not save changes to .bin file, despite no errors while saving.

Thank you so much in advance! Rolleyes
