[REQUEST] Packard Bell EasyNote LJ65 BIOS Unlock
#1
Hello,

I've been trying unsuccessfully to change my ATI Radeon HD mobility 4670 (that I'd previously changed from a HD Mobility 4570) by a AMD Radeon HD 6770M on my laptop a EasyNote LJ65.

I've found on an other custom BIOS site, a modded BIOS :

From
-Manufacturer: PackardBell
-Model: Easynote EN LJ65
-Bios Type: INSYDE
-BIOS VERSION: V2.14_A_A
-BIOS SLIC : ACRSYS 2.0
-Bios Download Link :
http://global-download.packardbell.com/G...C=EMEA_13P

To
-BIOS SLIC : ACRSYS 2.1
Mod http://www.mediafire.com/?jv3ocs9v4pv8793

But this one has no effect on my problem : my BIOS don't want to launch with the new card (and so the computer too). I've asked on forums specialized in laptop gaming and a lot of people said to me that the microcode of this graphic card is simply not included in the BIOS so it can't launch it.

I know, I'm not asking for a easy task but is it possible to include in a way or an other the microcode of the 6000M series in the BIOS of my laptop or remove the graphic cards whitelist if it exits so I can install the new card into it ?

Thanks in advance.

PS : I've found on a forum the code of the card if it can help :
Name Radeon ™ HD 6770M
PNP Device ID PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6740&SUBSYS_3389103C&REV_00\4&31AE8F37&0&0008
Adapter Type ATI display adapter (0x6740), ATI Technologies Inc. compatible

Hello again,

I'm always stuck with my problem, if anyone couldn't help me to wipe out the graphic cards whitelist from my Bios, maybe someone could at least give me some advice to modify it myself ; none of the tools I've tried can open this BIOS successfully so I've no idea how to proceed...

Please help me !

Hello,
I've tried to make it myself with tutorials so I can describe what it's not necessary to try because it's not working :
- I've deleted 2 modules (in 3 times, separately and these 2 at the same times) named (sort of) fwblockservice (under EZH20) but I've bricked my laptop each time (thanks again my lovely printer for the tutorial to save my pc ;-) )
- I've searched in memory of EZH20 for Hex of the original card without any success ; I've only been able to found my actual card Hex description in VGA Bios module that seems to me the least thing.

So I ran out of solution ; any advice would be kindly received...

Hy machine code writers,

First off all, sorry for bad english, it is not my native language.

I heard a lot about Insyde biosses and that they hide the hidden tabs quit wel and hard to mod.

But..would someone here be prepared to take a look at the bios of my packard bell easynote LJ65 to unlock the hidden tabs, advanced en so on.
Offcourse i find it more than ok to donate for this kind of work.

Thank in advance

Kevin

Hello Da vinci code,

Thanks for quick modding my bios, flashed it and work perfect.

But the advanced tab did not contain the option that i though it would.
No FSB or Mem Mhz steps to play with. No voltage controle or any of that stuff.

Let me explain as short as i can.

Until the birth of my little girl last year, i was part of an Dutch-Overclocking team in Europe. We did many challenges and so.
We (i) had a lot of sponsers then, but with the birth of my child, i had nore more spare time to spend on overclocking, so no more sponsers as well.

Now, i have a little time extra nowadays, because the baby askses less care than the first year. So i modified my laptop cooling system completely in order to play with frequencies and voltages. So in fact those where the options that i was hoping fo.

Have you somethimes come across of these options while editing/modifiing the bios?

If this is possible ( i hope ) then i hope you can liberate those options?

You still did not tell me how many you wanted me to donate for you'r work?

Regards,

Kevin.

No donation needed, dont worry Smile
If that mod didnt work so i stuck.
However, i looked at SetupUtility menu and found no overclock options. As rule, most of mobile bioses havent full optional menus like desktop motherboards.
You can change hidden options without modded bios, just read Falseclock's thread at top.
If you have interest to use his method so there is extracted all options and menus of your bios.
