Now, after seeing that you have the MCP61 chipset, you are possibly in very good hand. IF you are careful and are willnig to test this, then this may be super successful for you. If you read the link to the blog post below, you will see that we have unlocked over 7 boards now using one ABIT BIOS that supports the nforce 430 6100/6150 chipset. Your board could possibly support it as well. Read this article and tell me what your thoughts are, but I think that its a viable option.
BIOS and Instructions you would follow: http://www.bios-mods.com/blog/?p=142

First off, love this place !!
I tried the blog post, on a HP with ASUS M2N68-LA (narra2) mobo, with nForce6150SE-430 chipset.
Get an error in AWDFLASH saying "The program file´s part number does not match with you system!"
And then it exits.
Any idea what i can do ?
MANY thanx !

Hello, can any OC options be unlocked in this bios?
And is there any tutorial for that? I'm kinda new to this section.
Motherboard: Asus (HP OEM) M2N68-LA (Narra2)
Bios: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG 5.13 10/29/2007 |
Chipset: NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 ((MCP61))
Would also like to add: AHCI option.
And I'm running Windows 7.
Kind regards,
Wezzlan!

Hi guys,
I looked through the bios forum and didn't see my system for bios unlock/update/upgrade. I'm a new to this and was hoping you could guide me to the right places and give me step by step instructions so I don't mess this up.
HP is no help with BIOS updates for upgraded OS, besides I'd like to get out from under their thumb for updates for BIOS.
(Using CPUID, dxdiag & msinfo32 to collect all this system information for the computer).
Information:
Manufacturer: HP
Model: Pavilion a6316w (GX626AA-ABA)
OS: Windows 10 Evaluation Copy (Windows_nt)
Motherboard: ASUS M2N68-LA GL8E (Narra 2) 2.00
Chipset: GeForce nvidia 6150SE nForce 430 nvidia MCP61 revA3
Southbridge: nvidia MCP61 revA2
BIOS: Phoenix ver 5.14 Date: 02/01/2008
SMBIOS: v2.4
BIOS Mode: Legacy
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+
Code Name: Brisbane
Brand ID: 4
Technology: 65nm
Core VID: 1.100v
Package: Socket AM2 (940)
Family: F (15)
Model: B (107)
Revision: BH-G2
Processor Rev: 6b02
Power Supply: 250w
I hope this gives you enough information so I can make this machine fast and stable. I hope I am entering this forum correctly, LOL.
Thank you,
RJPaul

So what works on the HP M2N68-LA (Narra 2) rev 2.0?
Nobody answered if it works and what steps they took to update the BIOS.

Does somebody from the Admin. monitor this forum?
Because I was hoping for some answer or direction of how to update the BIOS from the HP version, so I can effectively use this computer with current software and have better BIOS options.
Some type of answer is better than NO answer. This question has been up for 13 days. I'm trying to be patient and read many forum request pertaining to this motherboard with no clear answer. Nobody has stated if they have update this BIOS successfully, nor have they given clear instructions on how they performed the task, if they were successful in performing a BIOS update. There are no reference point for this motherboard.
RJPaul
PS: After reading the forum, I don't know if I should use the identifier as (Motherboard #, Chipset, Phoenix, Award, Motherboard Manufacturer, OEM Manufacturer). I don't have the experience, knowledge or resources to what BIOS is compatible with my system data, as stated above. That is why I am asking for help. If there was some type of information to instruct the forum user as to what information is required to achieve their goal as well as indexing of what worked for that particular (Motherboard #, Chipset, Phoenix, Award, Motherboard Manufacturer, OEM Manufacturer) needed for (BIOS, CPU, Motherboard) (Update/Upgrade, Unlock/Modification). It would save a lot of confusion and create better referencing points.

Hi folks. I have fixed an old HP Pavilion A6110N computer using the M2N68-LA (Narra2) board and have successfully flashed a modded v5.13 BIOS onto this board (and got SLIC 2.1 on it too). I had to replace that weak Bestec ATX-250-12Z power supply unit with a stronger Seasonic SS-620GB 620w power supply to get more amperage on the 12V rail and to make the HP computer run more stable and quieter.
First off, some of you guys are using the wrong version of AWDFLASH, which is why either the "Unknown flash type" or "The program file's part number does not match with you system!" error messages show up. You need an ASUS specific version of AWDFLASH which is NOT provided on the Bios-mods.com site. Get Awdflash for ASUS 1.32 here. Use that specific version of the awdflash tool in pure DOS mode to flash a modded BIOS. I had far better success in flashing a modded Award BIOS onto the HP M2N68-LA Narra2 board with Awdflash for ASUS than using the "normal" non-ASUS based Awdflash versions.

Hi there,
got a HP pavillion a6252.de, with a Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core 5600+ here.
(ASUS NARRA2 Mainboard, nvidia nForce 6100-405/430)
Any chance to get some hidden settings activated in this old Phoenix - Award BIOS ?
For example :
-AHCI (SATA Native Support)
I know HP deactivated it per default on AMD boards and enabled it per default on Intel CPU boards.
BIOS can be downloaded here :
