[REQUEST] Sony VAIO "S" late 2012 unlocked BIOS

(09-03-2015, 08:03 AM)BDMaster Wrote: Use this tool PMT263 to extract Bios :

http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads...EFI-BIOSes

Or CodeRush UEFITool 0.2.5 :

Then find the Module Setuputility and modify values at offsets !

I've done many progresses but now I'm blocked. I am following this guide using the tools that you have suggested to me:

http://donovan6000.blogspot.it/2013/07/i...tings.html

I'm not able to find the HII database header. I've searched something like $SBV but nothing. I can't find it.

Sorry, I've flashed many bioses but I've never attempted this kind of mod.

Can you help me? There's another way to mod this bios? I've tryed to contact Donovan6000, I hope He replies to me.

I'm not sure to have understood. These are the steps I've done:

1) I've used Rurfus tool for the USB Stick.
2) I've done a backup of the original bios using these commands: FPT.exe -d biosbackup.bin -bios
3) I've opened biosbackup.bin with PMT 263 and It has generated 1 folder (DUMP) and 1 file (SLIC.LOG)
4) I've pressed advanced button to flag some control options as suggested in Donovan6000's blog:
http://donovan6000.blogspot.it/2013/07/i...tings.html
5) I've pressed the button go
6) Before pressing ok I've replaced the original file FE3542FE-C1D3-4EF8-657C-8048606FF670_765.ROM in the folder DUMP with the new one (Your file)
7) I've pressed ok and PMT 263 generated the file BIOSBACKUP_SLIC.BIN
8) I've renamed BIOSBACKUP_SLIC.BIN as R1021C8.BIN
9) Now I've only to flash it with InsydeFlash

It's okay?
It's not clear for me how to use the file FE3542FE-C1D3-4EF8-657C-8048606FF670_765 IFR
Thanks a lot for your patience, it'll be rewarded Smile

My file is Pure (original) I posted the modifies to do !
So you have to get the "Setuputility" Module I uploaded for You to show which one
to use then open It using an HexEditor and edit the Offsets I wrote previous :

Form Sets
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Offset: Title:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
0x28FA4 Power (0x261)
0x2B474 Advanced (0x27)
0x39FB4 AUTO: Auto detect the Azalia codec. DISABLED: Disable the Azalia controller can be selectable. (0x64)
0x3AC84 Int-LVDS (0x46)
0x3B134 352 MB (0x1B)
0x3B3C4 FIS-Port Multiplier (0x92)

07C3 : 75 19 to 75 00 jnz short loc_1800007DE to jnz $+2
07D3 : 75 09 to 75 00 jnz short loc_1800007DE to jnz $+2
07DC : EB C0 to EB 00 jmp short loc_18000079E to jmp $+2

To reflash the Bios Mod We need to use FPT as your Bios is Capsulated and RSA signed !
So You can use this one flashing from DOS Pure by USB Stick (prepared by Rurfus tool) !

In this case You have to modify the value at offset address 0x07C3 and modify from 7519 to 7500 and make
same for all three offsets then save and only after modified it You can replace to original like into tutorial's Donovan !
I hope You understand now !
I haven't done for You just to let You learn by yourself !
Let me know
Regards

P.S. to rewrite back the Bios Mod use from Dos the follow command :

prr.exe

fpt -f bios.bin -bios

Where bios.bin is the Bios Mod file name !

Finally I have understood. Just two last questions:

1) Is the file to be modded FE3542FE-C1D3-4EF8-657C-8048606FF670_764 or FE3542FE-C1D3-4EF8-657C-8048606FF670_765? Probably you intended the file FE3542FE-C1D3-4EF8-657C-8048606FF670_764, or not?

2) How I have to replace the first Hexadecimal value (0x28FA4 Power (0x261))? There are 3 numbers (0x261), not 2 like the others.

Thanks a lot.

Anytime You extract Bios can get suffix different (Andy used checksums to distinguish the Modules) so
You have use your Setuputility module !

You have to modify the value at these address only :

07C3-------: 75 19 to 75 00 jnz short loc_1800007DE to jnz $+2
07D3-------: 75 09 to 75 00 jnz short loc_1800007DE to jnz $+2

I don't know what I'll do so I prefer to avoid any risk. Please do it for me. Thanks.

P.S. I'm interested also to overclock the GPU. It's possible? It's worth it? What do you think about?
