[REQUEST] Thinkpad x1 Gen3 Tablet 20KJ-SOPM00 Bios Unlock
#1
Dear Team of Bios-mods, Hello everyone

i have a Thinkpad X1 Tablet model 20KJ-SOPM00 Core i7 8650U 8Go Ram 256 Go Samsung NVMe M2 Disk
two connectors USB-C controller Thunderbolt 3 + NanoSim LTE and microSD reader
i tried all things to install Windows 7 but i failed it get me really crazy !!
The Bios is UEFI only the Legacy Bios is deleted by the manufacturer
There is no Legacy neither CSM Bios

Please help me to get these options (Legacy & CSM Bios) enabled again
The original file of the version bios installed in my machine is:
https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/n1zuj27w.exe
The page link is:
https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloa...-20kj-20kk

Sorry to do not provide you my extracted bios file because your given link is down and i can't found it elsewhere

Hello all,
after lot of struggling battles, i come back here to share with you some new discoveries
First of all, dismantling this thing is not an easy operation ! all is miniaturizied and ribbon cables !
Finding the chip is not easy, almost all the components are protected by a shield. at first glance was discouraged and depressed, was scared to unsolder all of this ! Thanks God it's just hold by clips
The X1 Tablet do have two Chips found Winbond 25Q128JVPQ & Winbond 25Q16FW1Q, the real Bios is stored in the 128 one, the 128 is 3v and the 16 is 1.8v says their datasheets
The two chips are unfortunately SMD ones ! SMD components are new generation, do have lot of advantages but only one inconvenient and a big one, Lack of Maintenance, this where im stuck !!
The CH341a Programer comes with a clip Cable, because of this SMD config of the chip, the Grip is too thick & rough no contacts can be possible with the legs. The plastic jaws of the clip overflow the metallic pins. Have tried to prune with a cutter make the clip unasable for real, it slide
Using the Hot air gun is not a good thing for me, the motherbord is too fragile & too complicated, its components are microscopic
Using a Digital Microscope is a prerequisite in my opinion, i ordered one
i decided then to chose the solution of soldering some very thin wires to the legs of the chip, i think it's the best and safest solution
Lot of gurus advise me also to eliminate the CH341a Programer because of some TT voltages pbs, i don't know what that means, i decided then to order the TL866ii Programer more Pro
Some good guys say it's about 100$ investment !  Big Grin
Sorry because of this x#!$ smd compnts Unfortunately all of this operation will cost buying another Tablet !! Angry

Conclusion of this project :
SMD Chips for the X1
The clip is useless
soldering wires to legs's chip
TL866ii instead of CH341a because voltage pbs
Digital Microscope necessary
Microsurgery skills !

Please any suggests would be appreciate
Dave
