Good idea. Will do. Smile

Also for what it's worth:

- Pre-pre QS/ES C0 stepping (QEFU): Nothing yet. That's the ones I have.
- Pre QS/ES D1 stepping (QFJY): http://www.cpu-world.com/sspec/QF/QFJY.html
- Retail stepping (SR1GL): http://www.cpu-world.com/sspec/SR/SR1GL.html

Not sure if this would help you in any ways but I'm mentionning these, just in case. Smile

If you can interpret or guess what the changes are?

Thanks in advance.

My bad, looks like lines 7 and 8 have changes.
I framed the wrong ones. Bleh, you still get the point. Can't be arsed to re-do them at the moment.

CPUID=306Ex for Xeon E7-28XX/48XX/88XX v2 - Ivy Bridge-EX
CPUID=306Fx for Xeon E7-28XX/48XX/88XX v3 - Haswell-EX

Okay so what I have here are the v2 - Ivy Bridge-EX.

CPUID=306Ex for Xeon E7-28XX/48XX/88XX v2 - Ivy Bridge-EX

I really don't need support for v3 Haswell-EX as these are extremely expensive (even as ES) on eBay.

Now what's next? Smile

Need to find BIOS v1.60 for HP ProLiant DL580 Gen8 (P79), filename is SP70043.exe
Microcode in this BIOS:
306E4 - 418 - 08/08/2013
306E6 - 600 - 09/19/2013
306E7 - 70D - 05/29/2014
It supports QEFU:

Yes I know, these 4 "QEFU" CPUs I got were taken out of a Proliant server. Smile

It's just Supermicro boards BIOS and support are complete dogshit, but at least they work with with a standard +1000W PSU.

Should we hex-edit the Supermicro BIOS and use the microcode values you pasted then flash it? or...?

Looks like HP has 306E4 - 418 (from 2013) while Supermicro has 306E4 - 428 (from 2014). Line 3.

The other 2 values are identical:

HP: 306E7 - 70D Supermicro: 306E7 - 70D. Line 1.
HP: 306E6 - 600 Supermicro: 306E6 - 600. Line 2.

Are we progressing yet? Smile
