Here you are , using HP 2.1 SLIC :-

Latest bios is 5.13 which is what is here and also what was in the file that you linked to , must have made a typo when you said 5.03 !

umm or is it a typo ? mine realy is 5.03 (search brought me here)

tip..if he changes to xp in the support hp site then checks bios version.
it might be diff version with no slic 3.19 for xp ?
instead of vista bios 5.03

i modded with awardtool 1.52 in ISA mode added HP SLIC2.1 and SLP
in tool shows AWARD BIOS v6.00PG

but im scared to try it friends pc. its not dos flash
its winflash.exe with installer.exe next to it and WinFlash.sys
i saw flashrom has support for Pm49FL004 but no T at end but im almost sure it works.
or should i stick with installer.exe to run the winflash.exe with the 503.ROm as the slic moded renamed ?

also i wonder if i could reflash with pins soldered if bad flash.. as i seen a few traces to a missing pins group of solder pads like a JTag port next to Pm49FL004T (no socket..soldered on mobo)

flashed it with ISA method .. trick to flash was to find 503.rom in hidden folders while i ran the regular nonmod setup. left it on the first warning to close all progs.. then replaced it .. it was in the temp/randomfile.tmp 503.rom (tip: in search show hidden and system files in advanced. then i right clicked it and opened file location. then drag dropped isa modded 503.rom to there asked to replace the file 503.rom).. then continued setup. finished. then said to restart. did auto reset cmos defaults and booted then activated. IT WORKS!

file 503.rom is modded with hpcpq slic 2.1 drag n drop to the .tmp folder where its located WHILE running original sp35172 with UAC OFF RIGHT CLICK then RUN AS ADMIN .. STOP at the first error message to close all other progs.. goto c: and search in advanced mode check hidden and system files search for 503.rom.. it should show up in some .tmp right click the result of search 503.rom goto folder find target. then drag n drop to replace the attached file bellow RENAMED to 503.rom

(BTW if its XP it might not boot again.. due to xp uses bios ver 3.xx not 5.xx so MAKE SURE U RUNNING VISTA OR 7 !! AND DO NOT FLASH WITH WINFLASH.EXE as it needs some special switches to flash properly!)
