[Removed] Thinkpad Edge 13 Remove Whitelist
#51

im pretty sure i flashed it but i'm a linux/hardware guy not a bios hacker.. :S

You must be running windows, and double click the file you downloaded to execute it.

Then just follow on screen instructions, and if you don't see any error message and see a Bios successfully flashed then you did it right Smile

If you see an error message write it down and tell me.

To force updating even having flashed same version manually launch WINUPTP.exe with /s or -s parameter from command line.

Please remember to come back and leave feedback. I hate leech and disappear thing.

Nice day.

ok so this is what i've done;
i swapped hard drives in my lenovo, installed windows 7 pro, downloaded the rufo file and ran 'winutptp.exe /s' like was stated previously from someone else..
it sort of froze the system for a couple of minutes and then left me with a big phlash log file.
i assumed that meant i had flashed the bios... am i wrong?
but i still get the error 1802. Sad

btw, your help is much appreciated Smile

Hmmm try with -s and see the on screen messages to guess if the flashing process went well.
Or read the log to see if flashing was successfull

i tried with the -s and it seemed to go ok, but i still get the 1802 error.
i did not notice anything in the log file but i can paste it in pastebin if needed

hey camiloml,

thanks for the support in this thread Wink

i'd like to replace my wlan card and would really appreciate if you could mod a bios file for me.

Model: Thinkpad Edge13 (Type 0196-5PG)
BIOS Type Tonguehoenix
BIOS Version: 6YET36WW (1.19 )
BIOS Download Link: http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/...uj10us.exe

Current card:
03:00.0 0280: 8086:0084
Subsystem: 8086:1315

New card: (though whitelist removal would be even better)
04:00.0 0280: 8086:4232
Subsystem: 8086:1321

thanks a lot for your time!

wow camiloml,
that was pretty quick!

tried updating with WINUPTP.exe /s and nothing happened at all.
so i plugged in the power Wink and tried again.
it still looked like nothing happened. then suddenly the fan started and i got really scared.
luckily i just waited and apparently it just went into silent mode and flashed.

but it worked out fine, all works ;D

knowing that WINUPTP.exe /s just runs silently might have been nice though ^^
(which makes sense /s ... silent... but still)

thanks a lot for your work, please keep it up!
