No modded 0407 for our motherboard so far it seems, but you can check post #3 in this thread: http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-En...T-M-LX2-BR

It's 0405 modded rom, it'll work the same, I flashed it with asus utility from setup, cleared CMOS, rebooted a few times and now I can OC my Q6600 and set DRAM speed manually.

It would be awesome to be able to set AHCI too

I searched the forum before posting this request and I knew there were this other version available, but I need this exact file to be unlocked.

Thank you!

Information
I managed to edit the bios version 0407 myself (using AMIBCP) and instead of selecting CPU FSB/VTT/etc, in my version all you have to do is select the overclock percentage you want.

My processor is a Q8400 (2.66ghz stock) and I am currently running it 10% overclocked (2.93ghz) using stock cooler.

By the way, it wasn't needed "some reboots" to enable the overclock option, but just ONE.

This is how I did here:

1) Flashed the bios using ASUS EZ Flash and it automatically rebooted after 5 seconds done;
2) Pressed Del, entered the bios, loaded setup defaults, gone back to "Advanced" tab, and the overclock option was there waiting for me;
3) Selected overclock percentage (10%) saved settings and rebooted;
4) Done, I was already overclocked to the percentage I choosed!

@braian-k
I download the bios file (so I could see what was edited) on the other topic you suggested me and I also read your response:

I own a Q6600 which has a 2.4ghz stock speed and I was able to get it to 3.1ghz by setting the FSB to 344, setting CPU VTT to 1.3v (not sure if that was really necessary) and setting +150mv CPU over voltage which allowed me to pass stress tests with no errors. I was hoping I could get it to 3.5 but it's good enough so far.

You should try this 0407 edited by me, I believe it will make possible you achieve 3.5ghz =)

If you do, please post results.

wow, that's great @paulobral thanks!

does your version automatically overvolt the CPU? what about DRAM frequency?

will try right now and let you know.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT: @paulobral, your bios worked perfectly, but still no chance for me to get to 3.5 on my Q6600. In your bios I can select up to 30% overclocking profile, but if I do, my PC won't boot. It boots correctly up to 20% OC which gets my Q6600 to almost 2.9. I believe these auto settings are not increasing vcore more than 150mv. Is this hardware dependant or the bios files have more to unlock?

It seems I'll have to go back to the 0405 bios I was using to get 3.1ghz again =(

Still waiting for someone to unlock AHCI though. LX2/BR does have ICH7... What a waste of SSD and aftermarket cooler I have :'(

I can't tell you for sure how does this overclock percentage works, but here I can't overclock it more than 10% or the system either won't boot OR will disable overclock, maybe this is a processor limitation but IDK.

Hi guys,

I have this board here too, i'm gonna try @paulobral's ROM OC on a E5700 and let you guys know the results.

Unfortunatelly I'm running stock cooler (wife's pc), so I'll try a lower OC.

If there is any work to be done in this ROM, I'll be glad to help somehow.
