Request: ASUS Rampage III Formula Marvell Update
#1
I need updated Marvell 9123 firmware to:
ASUS Rampage III Formula BIOS 0903

Unfortunately there is no way to keep the bios from re-flashing the firmware when I update it manually. I found no option in the BIOS.

If you would like to also update the Intel RAID firmware and LAN, that would be nice but not required.

I have attached both the 0903 BIOS and the Marvell 9123 firmware. I was not sure what exactly you needed from the Station-Drivers site so I included everything that comes when you download their firmware package.

I just joined today and found this site to be an excellent resource.

I will happily donate! : )

Same Request - I'm running an ASUS RAMPAGE III FORMULA with a Corsair GT 120 Solid State Drive and I'm running into stability issues using the marvell sata 6 controller. The intel sata 3 works fine but my solid state was meant to run on sata 6. The solidstate is running off the latest corsair firmware etc. So I'd like to take a crack at having the firmware updated for the marvell controllers, I noticed mine are running at 1.0.0.xxxx while the latest marvell firmware is going at 2.2.0.1125
I’d appreciate anyone that could help, please. Otherwise I'm SOL since the motherboard seems to even downgrade the sata firmware of other marvell controller cards. $30 down the tube.

Tested the mod out over the weekend!

After running ATTO's Hard drive bench mark a couple times, it seems I lost a tiny bit of speed on my read/writes. A couple megs, it is no big deal.

I will have to reformat and install updated Marvell drivers to see if I can squeeze any more speed out of the controller. Right now I think I am using whatever Microsoft has for AHCI drivers.

Also I noticed that if I try to upgrade the 9123/9128 firmware to 2.2.0.1125, the BIOS will re-flash it. I am not entirely sure how to get around this. If anyone knows how I can get around this I would be ecstatic!

Other then that, the mod is stable and I am very happy with my BIOS Mod. Thanks DMAN!

Formatted my machine and installed Windows 7 Pro x64.

Using the latest Marvell driver with the new BIOS, after the format, I managed to achieve a little bit better performance then I used too. Again, only a couple of megs of difference. I believe this is the highest performance I have gotten with my SSD on the Marvell controller.
