[Request] Acer 9810 Notebook Bios Unlock with experienced user
#1
Star
Hi Smile

Is it possible to unlock more features for this Bios, maybe even "Memory Remapping" or "Virtualisation Technology" (VT or VT-x or Vanderpool as you wish to call it) ?

Because after some research, there is a bug in this Bios.
Example:

It is not possible to install or boot Windows 8 x32/x64 with 4GB Ram installed.
You need to remove 2GB Ram to Install and boot the OS.

This only happens on Windows 8/10.

To make this fast Notebook Futureproof, i would be really happy if someone can unlock more Bios features to tinker around.
Maybe this leads to an Solution.

Manufacturer: Acer
Notebook: Acer Aspire 9810
Bios: Phoenix
Current Revision: v2.14 2008/12/08

Download: Acer 9810 Bios v2.14

Can´t Backup the Bios
Display´s an Error

Thank you so much !
I hope we can fix the Error and find a Solution.

Hello Akirax3,

Unfortunately, none of the menus (or even the lower-level sub-menus) are linked in your BIOS image. To complicate matters more, there is little to no room to manually construct new BIOS menus in your BIOS image. Additionally, there are no mentions of either AHCI or Memory Remapping in your BIOS image, meaning that these settings cannot be added.

I can unlock VT and a few other individual settings, but I will not be able to unlock any large menus. Knowing this, would you still like to have your BIOS image modified?

~Steven

Hello Akirax3,

I will unlock VT and, if possible, a few other settings. The BIOS mod ETA is sometime tomorrow.
