[Request] Dell 7559 bios fully unlocked
#21
right now im stuck, i flash it and nothing is there, aptios says its flashed, but, i must restard manualy after that.

recapitulation:

i am still looking for vbios mod and advanced (cpu oc,thermal, mem etc) tabs in bios i managed to dump
fptw backup
and i have tried to unlock it (amibcp64):
my try unlocking

i have flashed it with Afuwingui v 3.05.04 > cmd admin: Afuwinx64.exe fptwUnlocked.rom /GAN
it says all 100% ok flashed, i manually restarted after everything done, and when i to in bios, nothing [Image: default_sad.png]
i cant figure vbios extracting, > cant find correct line in mmtool

In one forum i have found, with same laptop who managed to extract vbios, he dont write how , he send it to someone in this techinferno and he unlocked, it, unfortunately, he bricked his laptop because of ,,boot guard,, and he flashed it with hardware programer and it worked for him
please help, im willing to donate some $$

Here was the forum post where the guy bricked his laptop
http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/...t-10159826

This laptop has a lot thermal headroom to push the gtx960m - cooling is exceptional, bang for $$$ here is incredible. Unlocking the vBIOS would be killer - if somehow we could push more than +135MHz on the core (which probably every single 960m could do if it wasn't for the artificial limit) or if voltages were unlocked.

I didn't find any reports on the web of anyone trying to mod the BIOS or vBIOS on this notebook ever since that post in the notebookreview forum linked above, but I think there's a lot of interest about this.
If anyone has some idea about how to proceed that would be be great.

i've been following this thread for some time too. I'm searching for a vbios. 135mhz overclock is not enough at all. and like you said, this card should do at least 300mhz without hitting temperature or voltage limits.

any help would be appreciated.

(08-15-2016, 09:08 AM)nnvt Wrote: I modded your bios and I enabled most options that I could enable (you might not see too big of a difference considering your bios is already pretty advanced...) the chipset tab was not hard locked so it might work but you'll have to flash it to see if it's there or not!

First of all, I am not responsible for any damage you do to your laptop by flashing this bios!
Read this guide carefully first before attempting to flash it, doing something wrong might result in a brick

Requirements:
Afuwin 3.05.04 > Download
The modified bios > Download
A backup of your original bios

Extracting AfuWin:
  • Open the downloaded zip file (AMIBIOS_and_Aptio_....zip)
  • Go to "Amiflash>AptioV>afu>afuwin>64>afuwin64.zip" and extract the contents of afuwin64.zip somewhere safe

Taking a backup of your oringal bios:
  • Go to the folder you just extracted and open up "AFUWINGUI.exe"
  • Press the save button and select a safe location for your backup bios

Installing new bios:
  • Make sure "7559Unlock.rom" is EXACTLY 12582912 bytes and copy it over to the afuwin64 folder you extracted
  • Open up a command prompt AS ADMIN in the afuwin64 folder
  • Close all windows, disable your antivirus and if you have windows 10, make sure no updates are pending
  • In the command prompt, type "Afuwinx64.exe 7559Unlock.rom /GAN"
  • If you get any size mismatch error, do not flash the bios! If not then press "Y" when prompted
  • Reboot laptop if process is done and test it out

Please post your results here!

A system  is trying to post, but a error is appear: "Boot Guard verified DXE that is fail. System will shutdown. Press any key."
Bios recovery does not work.
But i have a EZP2010 and a great soldering skill Smile I am program my backup into 8MB flash, and my laptop is work fine.
Can you remove this error?

upd:

Any news on this matter? I'm really looking forward to unlock this BIOS to enable Hot plug for one of the PCIe ports.
Right now, I failed in everything that I tried. I've also tried to change the EFI variable via EFI shell but it returns the error: "offset is out of range".

Please, if anybody knows a way to achieve the unlock or just the variable change... I would be really greatful.
