OK. Try to boot up with T9500. If it failed than try to boot without the laptop's battery, with the power adapter only.

No luck, at first was displaying no video, took Hard drive out, wifi card, one stick of ram, and pulled cmos battery for 10 mins, powered up again this time did get the dell bios splash screen but was not able to get into the bios it just stuck on
""Invalid configuration information - please run SETUP program" BUT does not give me the option to run F1 or F2 etc"
gave it 10 mins, didnt change, tried to power it on and off again but back to black screen... back on the T7500 now.

Thanks for the help anyhow, may have to settle for a T7700 I guess at most.

So It isn't microcode problem. I'll try to find the reason if you want.
Please make and post a foto with "Invalid configuration information - please run SETUP program"?
P.S. Only two modules in BIOS are checking CPUID: 07_2 and 02_4. First write "Invalid configuration..." on the screen.

No luck on that, could only get it to display the bios splash once, then it went to
"Invalid configuration information - please run SETUP program" and stuck on that that.

turned it on and off but then could not get it to display video again, even with cmos batt out etc
ether just solid power light if no hdd in or flashing power and flashing hdd light if drive is in.

Switched back to T7500

Is it linked to the fact the T7500 is a Merom 65nm chip and T9500 is a Penryn 45nm chip,
yet the D630 and also I tried it in a Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo V5535 which is also Intel GM965 chipset
and perfect in that.

I've patched 02_4 module too. Try my 3rd mod.

When you switched back to T7500 did BIOS write "Invalid configuration..." on the screen at first boot?
Write everything from the screen or make and post a foto with it.

Just about to give it a try, and no when I switch to T7500 I dont get the Invalid configuration just tells me to set the bios clock from pulling the cmos batt out, after setting that it boots fine to windows.
