[Request] Unlock TVS-672XT AMI Bios
#1

.zip   dump.zip (Size: 3.03 MB / Downloads: 8) Greetings,
I'd be grateful if you can unlock all the hidden options/advanced in this bios. It's lacking to many options that I need ahci/ secure boot/turbo boost.. etc

I dumped the bios with FPT, can you please help me out?

This bios didn't hidden root tabs(e.g Main ,Advance ,Chipset..etc) ,so you could attempt to unlock sub-items via AMIBCP by yourself. Set Default to User under column Access/Use in you want to unlock option.

I tried to open the dumped rom with AMIBCP but I'm not seeing any options that I can play with.
Can you please look at it ?

Is this normal when I save the rom ? "Saving secure rom as unsigned"

I'm not sure , but i assume a unsigned rom can't re-flash again via fpt.
Have you tried to flash the modified bios?

Hello Genius239 & ramx2,

I have encountered this error too when using AMIBCP. Although the same edits can be made using a hex editor, it is extremely tedious. A relatively simple way to get the ROM to save as signed while using AMIBCP is as follows:

(1) Make your access level edits in AMIBCP. Make note of where the unsigned modified ROM is saved. *Do not save over your original BIOS backup!*

(2) Using UEFITool (https://github.com/LongSoft/UEFITool/releases/tag/0.28.0), open the unsigned modified ROM that was created with AMIBCP. Press "Ctrl" (Control) and "F" on the keyboard and search for the text "AMITSESetupData". I recommend using UEFITool Version 28 (not NE), as you can both extract and re-insert modules. But I have included directions for both versions (28 and 58 NE) in the attached picture at the bottom of this post.

(3) Extract the module under AMITSESetupData (the one in the row highlighted in the attached picture) by right clicking it and choosing "Extract as is..". Save it somewhere.

(4) Open up the backup ROM of your BIOS image that is not yet modified in UEFITool. Search for "AMITSESetupData" again. Right click the row shown in the attached picture and select "Replace as is.." and select the AMITSESetupData module you extracted earlier.

(5) Go to File > Save image file. This is the modified, signed BIOS image that you will flash.

Essentially, we take AMIBCP's edits and we get UEFITool to take care of signing.

Hope this is helpful reference

1.) Donate to one of various organizations offering medical, military, and psychological support to those impacted: Support Organizations

2.) Combat misinformation on social media.

Also, please feel free to PM me if I have not replied again about your BIOS mod request after 5 days.

I knew this method ,but your explanation is always let thing more complex. Module FE612B72-203C-47B1-8560-A66D946EB371 is stored all setting values and menu struction you can see on AMIBCP ,so extracted this module from a unsigened rom then replace into another bios rom via uefitool is one way ,but the best important key still is uefitool. If you're understand enough for this module ,you even can move options to arrive our bios modify target. Of course i'm not very familiar with this module , currently i only can move some sub-items.

Give you a friendly tip , you can't find a PchSetup variable module in a AMD platform ,AmdSetup(cbs menu) is a key.

It's easy on me now to replace "AMITSESetupData" by the posted instructions, thank you Smile

* There's too many to change in the" Access/Use" to user, isn't there a way to change it all quickly to user without going through the tree and the sub trees?
We can't elevate the access level of the default to allow me to see all the hidden menus?

* To flash the: dump.rom I should use FPT with the following switches in command prompt from windows?

fpt -bios -f dump.rom

If have an alternative method please share it..

1. Not all of options are locked or hidden ,so you don't need to set all items to USER .
For example ,under Chipset tab , sub-menus Ref: System Agent (SA) Configuration and Ref: PCH-IO Configuration, VarStoreInfo are hidden ,you only set them to USER , then you could get many sub-menus under them ,some of sub-items are still hiiden ,therefore you need to refer to real bios screen to unlock other hidden sub-item.

2.
fptw64.exe -f biosname -bios
biosname=your bios file name
