Request for Latest BIOS Update for Toshiba Satellite A200-1AH (PSAE6E) to Resolve RA
#1
Hello everyone,

I am seeking help regarding a BIOS update for my Toshiba Satellite A200-1AH (Model: PSAE6E). Let me explain the situation in detail:

System Configuration and Recent Upgrade
Laptop Model: Toshiba Satellite A200-1AH (PSAE6E)
Original RAM: 2GB (2 x 1GB DDR2 SO-DIMM modules)
New RAM Installed: 4GB (2 x 2GB DDR2 SO-DIMM modules)
Recently, I decided to upgrade my RAM from 2GB to 4GB, as this model is documented to support up to 4GB of RAM. I purchased two new 2GB DDR2 SO-DIMM modules that are compatible with the laptop’s specifications.

The Problem
When I install only one 2GB module in either RAM slot, the laptop works perfectly, boots up without any issues, and functions normally.
However, when I install both 2GB modules together (for a total of 4GB), the laptop does not boot. The power LED turns on, but the screen remains blank, and no startup activity occurs.
This behavior suggests that the issue is not with the RAM modules themselves, as both work individually, but potentially a compatibility or BIOS-related limitation.

Steps I Have Already Tried
Swapped the RAM modules between slots.
Ensured both RAM sticks are securely installed.
Verified the RAM specifications match the laptop’s requirements.
Reset the CMOS by removing the battery for a few minutes.
None of these steps resolved the issue.

My Assumption
Based on my research, it seems the current BIOS version on my laptop may not fully support the 4GB RAM configuration. Therefore, I suspect that updating the BIOS to the latest version might resolve this problem.

Request for Assistance
Could someone provide me with the latest BIOS update for the Toshiba Satellite A200-1AH (PSAE6E)?
Are there any known issues with this model regarding 4GB RAM configurations?
If you have any specific instructions or precautions for updating the BIOS, please share them.
Additional Details
The operating system I plan to use after resolving this issue is Windows 7 64-bit, as it can fully utilize the 4GB RAM.
Both RAM sticks have been tested in another compatible laptop and work fine, so I’m confident the issue is not hardware-related.
I would greatly appreciate any guidance, links, or advice regarding this matter. Thank you in advance for your help and time. I look forward to your replies.

Best regards,

I just tried it again, but unfortunately, the screen still won't open.

Remove 2GB SO-DIMM and make a screenshot of SPD tab of CPU-Z.

The images are from the 1 GB memory and were captured separately while both were attached.

i943GML officially supports only 2GB. But I found information of 3 (1+2) GB support - https://valid.x86.fr/ju8n25
Have you any other 1GB SO-DIMM? You need to find one with 4 chips on each side (8 total).
