Request for help in changing display settings in a BIOS dump
#1
Hello friends,

I have an AAEON PCM-6892 Rev. A1.0 board that came installed in an industrial machine. This board outputs its display to a touch screen from an on board LVDS port. Recently, the board stopped working and I had to replace it with another board (same model purchased on eBay since they are no longer in production nor supported). This new board worked fine except for the low display resolution setting in the BIOS which caused the display to overflow out of the screen bounds. While trying to change the resolution from CMOS settings, our operator accidentally changed the display output to TTL LCD port. Now there is no display on the screen connected to LVDS port and I have no TTL LCD nor any TTL cable, connector or adapter to connect it to any compatible display device and change the settings. I tried resetting it to default settings through reset jumper and by removing the battery but the default settings are not helpful either as I still don't have a display. I tried replacing the CMOS flash chip on the new board (SST MPF 39SF020) with the one from the old board (SST MPF 39SF020A) but that didn't work. So, I got a chip reader, downloaded the BIOS from the old chip and uploaded it into the new one but failed again. I tried editing the BIOS with Award Bios Editor 1.0 but being a noob failed again. So, finally I am here requesting help in changing the CMOS settings in my BIOS dump (from the new board) by copying those settings from the BIOS dump of my old board. Here are the links to the .bin files of both the BIOS images obtained with a chip reader/programmer :

1) BIOS dump from the old board (to copy the settings from).
   Screen shot of BIOS details.

2) BIOS dump from the new board (to paste/change/edit the settings into).
    Screen shot of BIOS details.

3) Screen shot of the display settings (got from user manual) that need to be copied and replaced from the old BIOS.

4) User manual for the board with chapter 3 detailing BIOS setup.

It will be a great help if someone could suggest a solution since this problem is causing production loss due to an inoperative machine.

Thanks in advance.

Just connect a CRT monitor to connector CN18
That way you will be able to see the screen and make the required BIOS changes.
