Sony VAIO SVE171 Series (R0170D6): CPU Upgrade

I have this laptop http://www.notebooksbilliger.de/sony+vai...it+2x24ghz
 HM70 Chipset , is possible to upgrade procesor to i3 2370m? Bios is R0170D6?

Your notebook has HM70 chipset. HM70 has well known problem and can't run i3/i5/i7 more then 30 minutes.
Only hub(HM70) replacing will help. Or you can replace whole motherboard to new one with HM75, HM76 or HM77.
Another solution: put your laptop to sleep state every 25-29 min. This reset a timer. You can use Task Scheduler to do it.

And another thing that i know from personal experience,is that most of computers with HM70 ,the CPU is soldered :Smile

Hello @Dudu2002 , i contact you because i have upgraded my Vaio SVE1713K4E to an i5-3380M ( original processor is a Pentium 2020M ) but unfortunately the laptop shuts down every 30-40min . I have eliminated hardware related issues so that leads me to believe the issue is coming from Intel Management Engine or/and IAT hence why i tried to fiddle with bios settings but the bios is absurdly bare bones . I have already made a bios.bin but i don't know which program to use to read/modify Insyde bios so some help would be welcome .

Model : SVE1713K4E
Bios version : R0170D6

Run CPU-Z, make a screenshot of the first and third tabs
I also recommend contacting DeathBringer on this issue...you will get more qualified help...

Hi , thank you for replying . Indeed after some research i see the issue is more related to the HM70 chipset which is unfortunately what i have .
