Upgraded laptop cpu, now it won't boot at all, would a bios mod solve this?

Hi, i have a lenovo z510 laptop with core i5 4200m. I bought a used i7 4700mq cpu, after installation, the laptop would instantly power off. Reinstalling older stock cpu would make it work again. After further research, i read that some laptops have a bios whitelist that limits cpu models which could be installed. I remember that my laptop model had a version that was sold with core i7 4702mq back then. So it could be only that specific model is supported. 

I am asking if i create a thread requesting a bios mod in here, would the modded bios make my laptop boot with the core i7 4700mq installed?  Else I wouldn't waste someone's time for nothing.
