Zotac ZBox Magnus ER51070: CPU Support
#1
Hi,
I only need a check if a Ryzen 1600 will work in an Zotac ZBOX-E ER51070-BE? CPU in the Box is an Ryzen 1400, Board is an AMD A320 Board custom Zotac or OEM Supplier Production with an AMI Bios.

Homepage
https://www.zotac.com/de/product/mini_pc...us-er51070

Bios can be found here:
https://www.zotac.com/download/mediadriv...R51070.zip

There is some discussion with Zotac here stating that it is tecnically possible - CPU is not soldered - but there could be not nearer explained bios issues:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ZOTAC/comments/...1070_1060/

So if someone could check Bios and give Input would be appreciated. From my point of view, it's a CPU from same generation, same features, same TDP, "only" 2 Cores more. If the Bios is a standard Bios - what I would assume - I would see no showstopper why the CPU should not ran inside the Box?

Any Input appreciated!
Thanks
Achim

That's correct, these are the requested CPU-Z screenshots of the Zbox, lemorak is an friend of mine.

If someone could support us if we can run an Ryzen 1600 in this machine without having Bios troubles or showstoppers would be highly appreciated.

Thanks!

This system can boot Ryzen 7 1700 - http://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/7094654
So I think it supports Ryzen 5 1600 too.

Hello,

I have a Zotac ZBOX Magnus ER1070 with a Ryzen 5 1400. I want to upgrade to a Ryzen 7 2700 with the same TDP of 65W. Tryed to exchange the CPU, but the Computer dosent Boot up anymore with the new Ryzen 7. The latest BIOS vom Zotac is installed "Version 2k190425" and the Zotac support tells me, they dont support other CPUs than the delivered CPU.

Is there a way to mod the BIOS for the the Ryzon 7? The Chipset (A320) supports the Ryzon 7.

OK, thank you.

I think it is time to sell the ZBOX and build my own small form factor PC.

Hello,

I have a Zotac ZBOX MAGNUS ER51070 - a Mini PC based on Ryzen 5 1400.
I was thinking about upgrading the CPU to something else, but there are some conflicted information and i am not sure is it worth to invest even a bit of money to upgrading it or not.

Is it possible for you to help me and check the latest BIOS - Version 2K190425 - microcode support?
Does it support ONLY Ryzen 5 1400 or whole "Summit Ridge" (Ryszen 1000 series)?
Or maybe there is something more to it?

I guess there is no way of modding the bios, so just that CPU support information will be a great help from you.

Thanks for all the help
