cpu stuck @ 800mhz after flashing :/

when i first got the laptop it had bios 1.7 i think, then i updated to 1.9 and in that process i think it messed up the cpu multiplier or something because
now the freaking cpu only runs @ 800mhz nomatter what, i've tried with several OSs ubuntu, vista, win 7, still gets stuck... the only way that i found that works at full speed is changing the driver from amdk8.sys to amdppm.sys and stays at full speed, but is annoying because battery drais faster and gets hotter... anyone has info on how to fix it ?


i already tried to downgrade bios and still doesnt work....

Hi kicsrules,

I believe you are running into a Cool and Quiet issue. Normally when cool and quiet isn't functioning properly it gets stuck at 800mhz, which also explains why changing the driver worked. I reccommend downloading the latest driver off AMDs website for cool and quiet to see if that fixes it.

already tried that, also there isn't any cool and quiet drivers for win7 :/

Have you run Prime95 to see if the clock speed jumps under load?

fixed it...... restored to stock windows vista with recovery disc .... :/
