Exclamation
Hello friends.Sorry for my poor English.
My customer gave me to repair HP Pavilion dv6 2005et .Notebook have a caps and num leds two

but 40 - 50 sec reading something then nothing happens and not shutdown itself. 3636 name is correct
because other names or extensions cause a usb check and notebook restart.I am flash latest bios manualy
with programmer then notebook work but a lot of error on the screen serial , uuid , etc.I am reflash original bios then
I am starting the reball first northbridge ,southbridge and amd ati gpu but nothing change 3636.bin not recover ,
notebook not shutting down in recovery process (I am wait 30 minutes)I am compare f03 , f04 , f12 , f13 and
I asume original file is f12 because Original bios first a few bytes same. Can anybody help me fixing original bios corruption
or inject original information the new downloadable .FD file(SLIC 2.1 windows 7 information, windows licence key, uuid, serial, etc).
Thanks.

Hi,I cannot find either F07.I just compare with HxD dumped bios and F12 First pages are same .
I really don't know original version number ,I'm just guessing

Official support page:"http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4062&lc=tr&cc=tr&dlc=tr&sw_lang=&product=4050002"

and all bioses here :"http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/previousVersions?softwareitem=ob-83686-1&cc=tr&dlc=tr&lc=tr&os=4062&product=4050002&sw_lang="

I do not extra decrypt or anything, just resolder the eeprom then dump with programmer.others extracting the exe file with winrar.
I try decrypt with Andy's tool for reaching the slic ,serial, uuid information but, I could not make sense for me because
I did not know programing so much ,I know electronic stuff part very well but programming and bios thing not so much.
I'm just repeating what people do.Rolleyes

Best regards.

Ok friend,
I extracted Setuputility Module and find into Bios Version Number (It's in Unicode format 46 00 31 00 32 00 = F.1.2.) and in Dumped is F.0.7 !
I searched online and found that many users have got F.07 and asked for slic mod, but there weren't uploaded on MYdigitallife server !
So I can say that at saleing time It was on-Board flashed but not available for upgrade !
Ok It seems that Bios Significant Data are located from 0x20000h tp 0x200FFh so copy that section from Dumped Bios into Original F.12 Bios File and try to flash It !

Ok, I did as you said, it worked without problems (manual patch with HxD to f12 downloaded bios file).I saw the F.07 in hex without decrypt but I don't understand ,how to not existing bios in hp support site exist in this notebook.I wonder if someone else has flashed (with windows flasher forced flash on windows) the wrong bios before.Maybe factory outlet has been installed f07, not public.
original dumped bin file :F.07....................$Raven/Lassie 2.0 = Andy's tool find in slic 2.1
downloaded 3635F12.FD file :F.12....................$Raven/Lassie 2.1 = Andy's tool find in slic 2.1
Is that last numbers slic version. If two bios in slic 2.1 how can I extract then inject in new bios.I have no notebooks hdd because customer not gave me (his important data in it and temporary he use external). I'm afraid if windows license data error then.
Sorry bad English
Best regards.

I don't understand what do You want to get !
I think You want to add Slic 2.0 from F.07 into Bios F.12 (where is present Slic 2.1)
so let me know !
To do this stuff You have to follow Andy's PMT Slic.log into are listed modules involved into Slic check !
Then You can replace the Header, Rsa Key and Marker Modules and at last the modules which do the Slic enable (where are listed SLIC words follow at offset).

Look here :

F.12 Slic 2.1 :

EFI / Insyde BIOS
Recovery filenames are:

AFC04099-0D39-405D-BE46-846F08C51A31_895.ROM Slic Enable

Copy Modules from F.07 and Replace to F.12 They have the same GUID's Names of F.12 Modules !
You can do using PMTool 2.54 repacking Bios with option NoSlic !

I think the modules are all the same and You can check them doing an Hex Byte by Byte Compare, if so There is no needs to replace them !

Thanks for your reply. As I said earlier, I do not understand the bios programming.I ask you simple then, is this original Windows license key (notebooks sticker erased) embedded in the notebook's bios in slic section ? Am I right ? I am confused the "Raven/Lassie" thing, sorry for asking but what is this "Raven/Lassie" ? I just want to do inject original licence key or information in new bios. I'm sorry to keep you busyShy
Best regards.

Ok friend,
Raven/Lassie is Firmware Code Name !
About License Key (is RSA Key and Marker + Header) I saw these modules and they are same for F.07 nad F.12 and It's a 2.0 Vista Slic 2.0 SLP Activation !

This is the hex value contained into Header module :
