msi 945gm3-f and intel e5700 cpu
#1
hi all well i picked this up at a used computer store already assembled and aparently the cpu is unsupported.its working now but only at .99 mhz when it should go up to 3 ghz ive tried everything to try and raise it but nothing its multiplier is locked at 6 when it should be 15 and bios reports that its running 2.5 ghz but isnt at all. theres no bios update and no way to change the settings in the bios except raise the fsb but it crashes even raised to 205. the latest bios link is http://msi.com/product/mb/945GM3-F.html#/?div=BIOS and cpu link is http://ark.intel.com/products/42801/Inte...0-MHz-FSB) i wanna be able to use full processor but sadly not supported oh and cpuz reports the same but fsb is at 166.7 mhx instead of 2
an help would be awsome
ps i wasnt able to find a dner bios sorry

ps well still nothing its a pain .so either the person who owned this before me either was a computer genius or a complete idiot .wierd thing is before i got online dled msi live update and it updated the bios i seem to remember is saying things like the Ethernet drive was wrong then something i don't remember which program said my max memory is 4g spec says 2 but based on this i found two very similar boards the only difference was the chipsets the 945g was out done by 945gc. it supports 45nm cpus i almost wanna say that the previous owner flashed the other bios .same board model and all
http://msi.com/product/mb/945GCM5-F-V2--.../?div=BIOS dame near the same jut a thought just weird both intel and msi both told me it wont work i told them its already on ther i didn't put it on the guy at msi was shocked that it posted but that it runs at only .99mhz is because its unsupported still so off to replace board i guess.i read that modding a msi bio can corrupt it so thats out unless there's been a work around. thankx all that looked ill probably have the board and cpu for awhile id love em to work togeather but we cant have every thing now can we maybe ill luck out and someone will figure it out thanx again all

oh yeah totally ive discovered that on my journey .its just awesome someone didnt do any research before putting a new cpu into the board .ive replaced it with a new board now a foxconn g31mxp-k but ther bios update program killed the bios .but they are sending a pre flashed bios chip out to me no charge cause the board has never been rma ed before. so all in all i got a good dual cpu and now a board that supports it .still would be awesome to fully run the e5700 on the msi board oh well thanks for the reply though
