troubled toshiba satellite l300
#1
Hi, I have toshiba satellite l300-147, pslb0e.

I have checked 1234s282 mods.
http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-To...a-2-1-SLIC
it keeps failing PUBkey matching.

so I try flash original bios to know original slic status.
the original bios can be downloaded as below.
http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/...b0v140.exe
http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/...b0v150.exe
problem is unmoded original bios doesn't match PUBKey???
so I guess that after flashing, slic table has gone and it might keep failing PUBkey after it has moded???

I uploaded acpi table v1.4 and v1.5 from original unmoded bios and slic_toolkit capture.

Would you help me mod v1.5 with toshiba slic 2.1?

Thanks.
ps: usb dos booting and flashit PS10S150.FD /all

New Mod for you below:-

Here you go , i used Toshiba 2.1 SLIC + Certificate Included:-

1. Copy and paste ******.XRM-MS certificate file into C-Drive.

2. After pasting this file into C-Drive, go to START - ALL PROGRAMS - ACCESSORIES - COMMAND PROMPT. Right click on Command Prompt and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.

3. When Command Prompt opens, type at the prompt: slmgr.vbs -ilc c:\********.xrm-ms and hit the Enter Button. Wait for the Script Host to answer you with a message that the license was installed successfully....this could take a few minutes and so be patient.

4. After receiving the message that the license was installed successfully, type at the command prompt:

slmgr.vbs -ipk *****-*****-*****-*****-***** (Replace with any OEM SLP Product Key for your installed version of Windows 7 , they are not hard to find).Be Patient and wait for the message to say that the Product Key was successfully installed. After it says successfully installed, reboot the computer.

5. When you are back at your desktop, go to START - COMPUTER - right click on Computer and choose PROPERTIES and see if it is activated with an OEM product ID.

Back Smile

As SLICS are not manufacturer specific and i only had Acer and HP 2.1 SLICS split in half (because i was doing a manual mod they have to be split)

So heres Acer 2.1 SLIC mod for latest bios v1.5. Follow instructions above. If this doesnt work , id aprpeciate another slic dump screenshot as they are helpful for troubleshooting.

It fail. I upload acpitbls with screen capture.

I searched google and find dmi setting tools from toshiba

http://download.toshiba.com/invendmi.exe
http://download.toshiba.com/dmi_instructions.pdf
from dmi_instruction, DMI Entry Instruction Set 7 has matched satellite l300 machine.

This is DMI read information from the laptop.

DMI information Version: 1.0
Manufacture: TOSHIBA
Product Name: Satellite L300
Version: PSLB0C-1234567
Serial Number: 00000000000000000000000000000000
UUID: 00000000000000000000000000000000
OEM Part Number:
OEM SW Number:

I found that serial number and UUID filed with all "0".
I think bios flash has erased these value.
so I try to retype these value as the dmi_instructions.
but the problem is that the UUID can't be changed, it keeps all "0".
except the UUID, it can be changed the value.

I think it is caused by PUBkey dismatch.
Would you match the mods with the UUID or Serial number???

Thanks again

I found newer DMI utility which can modify the UUID.

It is for Satellite A200, but "dmi15.exe" is working on the laptop.
http://203.56.127.6/site/open/partners/p...0_SPA200_T&D_120CD.zip

I try to type correct value as dmi manual
Serial Number is from label bottom.
UUID is from mainboard sticker around memory slot, or from Acpitbls file.
but it keeps PUBkey error from slic_toolkit.
I might be missing some value to match PUBKEY?

Help...

If it flash the bios with /all option. then it delete dmi string.
usb dos booting and flashit PS10S150.FD /all

this is dmi information with /all option. it delete serial number and uuid with all "0"

DMI information Version: 1.0
Manufacture: TOSHIBA
Product Name: Satellite L300
Version: PSLB0C-1234567
Serial Number: 00000000000000000000000000000000
UUID: 00000000000000000000000000000000
OEM Part Number: PSLB0C-1234567
OEM SW Number:

Without /all option, dmi string has untouched.
I think it need careful to put /all option on toshiba's Insyde.

It looks like slic there with the acer mod, but, pubkey has mismatching.

Help...
