what happened to the original BIOS mods site?
#1
Hi,

this site seems pretty new to judge by the content.

I came here from seeing many links praising huge bios site that was a mine of information . The link says the site has "moved" and redirects here.

This clearly has not much to do with original site.

What's the story?

We took over - plain and simple. The old site had been abandoned by its owner and was only left online as an archive - no further updates were going to happen. We contacted the domain owner and he wished to stay as owner of the domain so we decided upon an agreement for him to redirect the site here.

Thanks for the explanation .

So the archive of content that I find many links to when searching BIOS mod issues has just been binned ?!

I'm not sure why anyone would say only left online as an archive. In view of the number of times it came up in google it was a rich and valuable resource.

Isn't there a way to integrate the archive?

regards.

Sorry but its not our content and the owner doesnt have a forum database backup - we were initially going to port the whole old forum over and merge it with ours but obviously this cant be done as theres no backup!

Also biopsy, you are quite mistaken. Our Google SEO value has doubled in the last 3 months and more than 70% of our traffic comes of Google for over a year now. In fact, we monitor the hits on the old domain, which is realatively 5 views a day, which it is clear we have built our own community and no longer rely on the old site. Also most of the content from the old site concerns Award BIOS v 4.5, which hasn't been used in almost eight years. Also, if you believe our site isn't a mine of information I suggest you take a look at our sitemap which has almost 5,000 indexed URLs. Do your research first, we clearly are the continuing legacy of the original site criteria. Since the old site has long since moved on, it is premature of you to judge our community at this juncture based on an old community.

Regards,
TheWiz
