I have same notebook here and here are the results under W7:

I see there is 25Q64 chip used.
I have already some experiences with I2C flash chips (I even build my own flasher for LPT that I can use with low voltage devices), but is it worth the hassle???
(As I understand there is no other way to force modified BIOS to this notebook)

How can I find out what hidden options are in the BIOS menu that I can unlock?

Please let me know, I can't wait to learn something about this area...


(I have here some notebooks with troubles and IMHO it is just TERRIBLE that manufacturers -LENOVO is the worst- are selling buggy product and in the same time blocked possibilities  for the advanced users to solve them on their own!!!   )

hello im trying to open my advanced settings ( to increase some performance) in Lenovo g50-80.

im receiving error 280: failed to disable write protection for bios. tried some setup_var but couldnt disable it. any thoughts?

Unfortunately great modder Oleh aka Dudu2002 cannot solve this request because shared magic bytes cannot be detected in Setuputility module (https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-F...3-with-H20)
However he is watching carefully this thread to grab ready solution and use it as himself work in future.It mean he is dilettante and he is using ready solutions of another modders only
What is your current version of bios?
Set your laptop to suspended mode and wake up it after few seconds.
Then run again tool and look it results.
If error is same, you need SPi Programmer+Pomona SOIC8 clip to flash mod.
Do you want to continue?

If its my last option i will try to buy thse things. But will downgrading my bios help? though i cant find older bioses for my laptop?

he did but he told me that i can;t do anything but buy spi programmer. But he also told that downgrading bios could help. do you have something in mind like where can i search for older bios? because in lenovo page theres only the newest bios. Also will that work? or it will be like flashing a modded bios?
