Acer Aspire 8930G: Quad core CPU support
#1
I have a Acer 8930g laptop that supports every dual core processor, the X9100 and the Intel quad core Q9000, however it doesn't have support for much faster Intel Quad core QX9300 in the bios, though the system could comfortably manage the heat and power as it has a superb cooling system.

Could/would anyone be able to guide me or do this easily? Are there any complications?

I have backed up my bios here with InsydeFlash,

Let me know what you think, really would be great to be able to use this chip.

Thanks

Post screenshots of first (CPU) & third (Mainboard) tabs of CPU-Z with current CPU.
Explain exactly what happens when you try to boot with Q9100.

Explain exactly what happens when you try to boot with Q9100.

With the Q9100 processor, after pressing the power button on the laptop, the indicators light up and the cooler and the shadow screen spin. Not even the logo of the BIOS

Trying to upgrade my fathers Aspire 8930G, Insyde bios 1.20, and upgrade from Core 2 Duo T9400 to Core 2 Quad 9100.

Laptop needs microcode for Core 2 Quad 9100 injecting.

Would appreciate some help on how to do this, something I've never tried before.

Post a screenshot with Mainboard tab of CPU-Z.
And make a good photo of motherboard from your laptop.
