DFI BI P45-T2R - raid upgrade
#1
Hello all,

I am having problems with RAID 0, and I would like to make an upgrade to try to solve issue, I tryed to ask DFI support, but they tell me that my board is aged?? evnthough it is bought in 12/2009.

here is original bios, unpacked (i think)
http://img.lanparty.tw/Upload/BIOS/CM/B245D308.zip - beta 2010 update?
http://img.lanparty.tw/Upload/BIOS/CM/B245D914.zip - real bios update 2009
currently is 8.5.0.1030

*update*
a little update, i use cbrom and updated raid rom to lastest, but didnt work.
says "PNP and PCI compliant bios not present"

many thanks,
Vladimir

Did you use one of our listed RAID ROMs?

Whcih RAID Rom did you try to upgrade too? You can only go so far according to your chipset eg. You can't run the 9.6.x roms on a board that has 7.x roms!

If 9.6 doesn't work then try 8.9.1. If that doesn't work then try 7.6. If you extract the option ROM that's already in there, you can open it in a hex editor to see the version. (Or you should see it when you boot up with it...)

Feel free to use/link/host any BIOS I post, no credit necessary. However, this is at your own risk and I take no responsibility. Always keep a backup of a known-good BIOS. Don't flash a motherboard if you don't have a backup computer just in case.

Always use RAID mode. RAIDFix

hi
sorry for late reply, i tryed some other things to solve problem.
I contacted Hitachi and I explained them my problem (after xy time in RAID 0, mirroring, raid reports error and need to rebuild again, eventhough if everything is ok)
The suggested to upgrade firmware of the hdd, and send me latest, but that didnt solve problem.

I tryed to upgrade to latest .rom but had some error (cant remember which) because new .rom is bigger than 64k.

I really dont know what to do, except to trash this motherboard and NEVER, buy DFI again! ;-)

It could jsut be the latest versiont hrows that error because of an incompatible header. Did you try the suggesting made by dansolo?

i have now 8.5.0.1030, why would i go to 7.6 version?
i tryed 8.9.1002 also does not but work, because all are bigger than 64k and get that errror 'PNP and PCI compliant bios not present' if added bigger

Probably it calculates a checksum somewhere. Are there any models higher with 64K?
