[Removed] Compaq Presario V3736TU Whitelist Check Removal Request
#1
Smile
Hi, I wanted to install my new wifi card (my old card (Intel 3945) doesn't compatible with Mac OS X/Hackintosh and reception quality is poor) on my HP Compaq Presario V3736TU, but it seems the BIOS doesn't compatible with my card. It shows 104-Unsupported wireless network device detected. System Halted. Remove device and restart. Huh

Can you or someone please remove wifi card restriction (a.k.a. WLAN whitelist check) in my BIOS? So other cards than authorized cards will work on my laptop? Or at least my new card (Atheros AR5007EG-AR5BXB63) will work on my laptop... But I prefer the first option... Smile

Here's my laptop info:
-Manufacturer: HP Compaq
-Model: HP Compaq Presario V3736TU Notebook PC
-Mainboard: Wistron 30CD
-Bios Type: Phoenix
-Bios Revision: F.2E
-Bios release: 12 Des 2008
-Bios Download Link:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp41501-42000/sp41959.exe
modded BIOS for F.2E with SLIC 2.1 but WLAN whitelist check isn't removed:
http://www.box.net/shared/ipymgqzffz (please modify from this BIOS)

Thanks, any help will be appreciated... Smile

Thank you so much! Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

One more question, which is the best way, flashing from WinFlash (in Windows) or flashing from DOS (via UFD boot) ?

This package is for windows, if you want to flash from DOS it's up to you.

Confirmed working. I needed to boot into DOS and flash.

Correction:

The BIOS will cause wifi to turn off on boot and it has to be manually switched off then on via the wireless hard switch.

Flashing a normal SLIC 2.1 BIOS fixes the problem. I think there must be a hidden menu inside the BIOS to disable power to WIFI on boot.

TTAV, please see if you can re-mod this instead.
