If I understand, trial and error is now required to see which options can remain unlocked + enable saving of changes. Probably quite a boring task for camiloml especially since he is unable to test them.

Could we get some information regarding the tools required to mod this insyde BIOS? I am more than willing to compile multiple bios and try them at home.

Unfortunatelly the only tools are HexEditor and IDA, then just your ASM64bit knowledge and skill. Don't worry, will make new mod with less options based on intuition Smile

Here's new test Wink I wait your news.

Hello,

Thanks for the information regarding hex editors and the IDA tool..

I tested your new version, saving of settings works 100% now Smile Great work - thank you!

Did you happen to notice if wake on lan is possible?

Cheers

I tested the bios Big Grin

1) No whitelist Wink (like i said the wireless button is still acting strange - i guess this is not the bios fault Huh )

2) The settings in bios can be saved...but the hardware virtualization is not working. I have enable Hardware Virtualization but the Applications says The hardware Virtualization is not enable in BIOS. Sad

I have a CQ60 that uses the same bios. Can someone list the options that have been unlocked? I would like to set the wifi to always on. I am trying several different OSs on the laptop, and some of them don't support the button.

Thank you ahead of time.

Wifi always on can be made by tapping pin 20 of the pcie card with electrical isolation tape before inserting in the pcie slot.

I did not notice any such option.

We now have wake on lan, which as camiloml pointed out is called "wake on PME" (Great seeing as I am using this as a media PC). We also have some settings regarding CPU state and power saving and Turbo. Also Sata/IDE/ACHI.

We also have thermal options, at what temp should the fan kick in, and when should the thermal throttle work.

In the first version there was some interesting GPU options (shared ram amount and such) but I guess those were hidden again because of our saving issues?

Just stuff that should have been there from day 1!!

Off topicish but if anyone can install XP on this thing please msg me! The CD installer just BSODs Sad I thought the sata options we have enabled would cure this.

Regarding the wifi whitelist I think you may be required to make a request in the correct section of the forum? http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Im...t-READ-NOW
