The new OROM seems to be working absolutely fine on the Rampage III Extreme.

Thank you for news and test!

I have updated my modded bios. Please check my thread below for download.

I usually leave it to ZioGTS to mod the Rampage III Extreme bios to the latest
OROM modules because there is no point in both of us releasing the same mods
that contain the exact same same OROM modules but since it seems he has been
busy lately I decided to update my thread with a one-off newer release.

Hello sinders!
And where was gone ZioGTS? Sad

I think ZioGTS has just got a lot on at the moment and is the reason why
he didn`t update his release to the previous released Intel OROM ether.

Or maybe it's because the last bios is working so good he didn't see it necessary to update lol.

My computer is running so amazingly good now after the last bios update to 12.6 that I am for the first time worried about updating haha. I am so grateful that you guys keep working on this boards bios, thank you both sinders and ziogts.

Thanks Sinders for posting an updated bios and thanks everybody for your support! I'm still alive and will keep updating ZioMod, but I'm having a terribly busy time, and I spend my tiny spare hours with my family.

Something strange happened to my mobo. Weeks after sucessfully flashing 16.01_S10 (and a few earlier versions before) I had to press the ClearCMOS-Button in the I/O shield. After restarting I got the message - the 1st time ever - that the SATA bios will be updated and I shouldnt turn off the system. About 30 secs later I got the message the update was successful.
Restarting was no problem and I used the PC for writing eMails. After ending that the system went into S3-standby. Reactivating the system was working perfectly.
But after I shut the system down the sytem didnt start any more. A black screen with no POST and no beep. I even changed the BIOS chip using the mobo-button for that. The LED changed sucessfully to the new chip. But the system didnt start at all - still a black screen. I changed the graphics card and the powersupply. No change. Even my PC technician didnt find anything. So I had to change the mobo to another X58 mobo (a cheap Gigabyte) and everything was working again.
I dont know what happened. Has anyone seen the message that the SATA BIOS is updated in POST-screen before? Any ideas what happened?

I am sure you get that message when the bios is
updating the Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller
bios and firmware for the first time.

Since you said, the system was working fine after
the bios update, I don`t think it had anything to
do with the modded bios that killed your board.

Sad to hear about your issues, but I agree with Sinders: as the motherboard booted after the update, bios is probably not the cause. And you even tried the second bios chip, which is of course untouched. I would try to remove mobo backup battery and clear CMOS afterwards. Let us know if you have any luck!
