Is it possible to upgarde an Intel T2050 (Core Duo 1.6) to an Intel T7200 (Core2 Duo 2.0) on an Intel 945GM express chipset?

Inspiron E1405 did ship with Core 2 Duos, so yours should be compatible with out having to mod the BIOS. You may have to download an updated BIOS from Dell though.


The new processor has to be a socket M part (the newer ones are socket P) and probably limited to a front-side bus speed of 667MHz.
