Hi BDMaster! Thank you so much, I just did it myself through your instructions in another thread. I'm now using the 5100 card and it is so much faster connectivity.

To anyone who want to do it themselves, below is how I did it. Note this is for U310/410 with 65CN99WW BIOS.
1. Do BIOS backup using the BACKUP_Tools software. http://rghost.net/58219938
2. Extract the result.rar generated from step 1 and put in the .bin file to the same folder as patches.txt and UEFIPatch.exe which I got from http://www.xup.to/dl,12790204/U410_WW_Patch.zip/.
3. Drag the .bin file to the UEFIPatch.exe and it will run the patching and generate a .patched file.
4. Rename the .patched file to bios.bin and replace the bios.bin file in modified folder of any of the people here who requested for mod. You can use mine as given by BDMaster - http://rghost.net/59280450
5. Follow the instructions of README file for the USB boot and flashing command.

MANY THANKS BDMASTER!

No more "Unauthorized network card is plugged in - Power off and remove the miniPCI network card." error.

Hi guys,

I'm trying to remove the whitelist from my U410 to upgrade the wifi adaptor. I've used the backup_tool.exe and have the result.rar file. I'd appreciate any help as I'm a bit lost as to what to do next.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks for the mod BDMaster, but I think something went wrong although flashing process finished, now the laptop is acting strange. The power LED illuminates on the button, and the fan is on full speed and I dont get any display and seems to hang. Please tell me theres a way I can salvage this laptop as I have a lot of programs for my engineering degree I'm currently studying for and I can't afford a new laptop let alone new licences for the software :'( I'm kind of having a panic attack right now so not thinking straight. I appreciate your help BDMaster, I'm not blaiming you before you think that I am Big Grin Tongue

Thanks,

Kris

Yes my friend, something is gone wrong as 1st time is happened this !
I have modded tons of Bioses Acer, Lenovo, Sony, HP, etc. belive me !!!
Your data are not lost as They are on HD and Laptop will reborn reflashing
newly a Bios into Eeprom, now We have to find a way to . . .
Try to reset CMOS removing battery on MoBo or using the jumper then
there is a tool here : http://boginjr.com/it/sw/dev/de-cmos3/
I hope You can Boot from USB Dos mode yet to reflash original !
Try to connect an external monitor on VGA and look for display !
I think Bios is gone corrupt, but Lenovo not has a Recovery way . . .

Here is your Original Bios Backup for FPT :

let me know

P.S. look here for SPI PGM :

https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...5#pid74575

I will try to find further infos for Recovery Bios Lenovo :

1.Download Phoenix Wincrisis on another computer, then Click on WINCRIS.exe and choose
CREATE MINIDOS CRISIS DISK and press START to make: USB floppy or USB flash memory.
When creating, select from Folder Options to view the hidden and system files and delete or
rename the file config.sys if present. Read also the included instructions.

2.Rename your BIOS file (65CN99WW.cap?) to bios.wph and copy it to the USB stick.

3.Plug the USB stick into the laptop and shutdown.

4.Hold down the keys Fn+R, and while holding press the power button.

5.Now you should hear the floppy drive working or USB blinking. Hold the keys for a while.

6.Leave the computer for few minutes. If it does not restart itself, turn the power off.

7.if everything went OK the computer should start normally.

Note: Do not take off your battery before flashing. It seems that it will verify AC/DC
connection and battery level and stop if one is not OK.

I have to extrat your Bios.cap to upload here yet ! so We can try It !

Haha, Yeah I know you have modded so many that was why I purposely asked you so I'm sorry to have to be the first Sad I really hope you dont take this as negative feedback on you. I did backup my original and try to reflash the original from USB boot but I cannot even get it to want to do that. I dont have a VGA port on this machine, but only HDMI and IIRC it only outlputted when in the windows environment. Dont waste your weekend finding info for me Wink Hopefully we can get it sorted sometime though Smile

Thanks for the links, I will look through them when I get home Smile

Hi BDMaster,

Hope your having a great weekend!

I tried the method above but still nothing. I renamed my existing file to bios.wph but I think maybe it needs to be extracted instead of just renaming the file? I also couldn't hear any beeps etc from the mainboard. and I'm not sure if Fn+R is actually doing anything. A bit of an off topic but The strangest thing last night was that for some reason, my partners laptop was seeing my laptop as a bluetooth device, seemed strange to me as its the first time that laptop has had bluetooth enabled so if wasn't seeing previously paired devices etc and the faulty laptop wasn't even powered up although it did have AC power still connected, so it made me feel that the laptop may still be resurrected as there was a little sign of life and for me not to give up! I also ordered those parts for SPI PGM so if all else fails its another route to take. The only problem I'm having at the moment is that the only other laptop I have access to has windows 7 starter with service pack one whihc I'm not allowed to do anything to now incase I break it lol.

Take care,

Kris Smile
